yes , they could still make a profit, but they would not make as much. is the government going to dictate how much money a company can earn?Or to not create artificial inflation rates they have never done it before and there is no incentive to not raise prices to keep their current coffers full.

and? increasing wages while perhaps a moral and much needed cure to the stagnation, there is no guarantee or way to FORCE companies to do that. Make them pay the employee more, it will just make them increase the costs of their products which with the recent pay increase people could afford but we would be just where we are already.
