Trump Says US Will Trigger UN Snapback Sanctions Mechanism Against Iran Next Week

Earlier, the Trump administration voiced its opposition to the UN Security Council rejection to extend arms embargo on Iran. Despite the UNSC decision, Washington asserted it would stick to its promise to "stop at nothing" to prevent Iran from buying and selling weapons.

US President Donald Trump stated during his press conference that the United States "will be doing a snapback" of sanctions mechanism against Iran, after UN Security Council did not extend the arms embargo on the country.

Answering a question "When will you trigger a snapback of sanctions on Iran?", Trump said: "Well, we knew what the vote was going to be, but we'll be doing a snapback. You'll be watching it next week".

Trump was also asked whether he would participate in a video summit on Iran proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, to which he said "Probably not. I think we would wait until after the election".

Russian President offered his initiative on Friday, suggesting "an online meeting of the heads of states that are permanent members of the UN Security Council as well as leaders of Germany and Iran as soon as possible". According to Putin, the goal of the online summit would be to "avoid confrontation, escalation in the UNSC".

"We suggest using the leaders' meeting to agree the parameters of joint work on forming reliable mechanisms of building trust and ensuring security in the Persian Gulf," Putin said, when offering the summit.

His suggestion came shortly after the Security Council refused to adopt the US resolution on extension of Iran's arms embargo, causing condemnation from Washington. The Trump administration reiterated its commitment to "stop at nothing" in order to prevent Iran from purchasing or selling weapons, claiming that the UN decision was a "mistake" that will lead to "major conflict".

Iran's arms embargo is set to expire on 18 October under the terms of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) - the agreement also known as the nuclear deal, signed in 2015 between Iran, the United States, China, France, Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.

In 2018, Trump reimposed sanctions on Iran after having unilaterally left the agreement, making Tehran step away from the JCPOA commitment to scale back its nuclear program in exchange for sanction relief.

Court Upholds Church’s Right to Hold Indoor Worship over California Officials’ Ban

A California court upheld on Friday the right of Pastor John MacArthur and Grace Community Church to remain open and to hold indoor worship services amid bans on the services enacted by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and other state and city officials.

According to a press release by Thomas More Society, just hours after the litigation firm filed the lawsuit in the Superior Court of the State of California County of Los Angeles on behalf of MacArthur and the church, Judge James Chalfant denied the county’s request for a temporary restraining order to block the church’s indoor services.

The Thomas More Society noted:

James Chalfant denied almost all of the county’s requests at the August 14 Los Angeles Superior Court hearing, agreeing with MacArthur and the church that it is the county’s burden to show why they should be permitted to infringe on the constitutionally protected rights of churches to freely exercise religion.

Chalfant expressed safety concerns. Attorneys for Grace Community Church explained that Los Angeles County was being unreasonable in its demands, and offered to have the congregation comply with face mask wearing and social distancing indoors until the matter could be fully heard. This was stipulated as a more reasonable action than that of the county’s rush to shut down church services. The judge agreed and set the full hearing for September 4, 2020, ordering the church to have congregants wear masks and social distance between family groups indoors.

The lawsuit was filed against Newsom, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, and other California and Los Angeles County public health officials who argued indoor church services must be banned due to the coronavirus.

Christian evangelical leader Rev. Franklin Graham posted to Facebook the ruling is “an important win for freedom of worship and for our Constitutional right to assemble and worship.”

Kamala Harris and Her AG Office Attempted to Keep Prisoners Locked Up for Cheap Labor — Used Inmates to Fight Forest Fires for $2 per Day

Kamala Harris and Jamal Trulove, an innocent man her prosecutors locked up for murder

Some things never change.

According to her own father Kamala Harris’s ancestors were slave owners in Jamaica.

They even had names.

And Kamala was a chip off the old block.

Back in February 2019 Jackie Kucinich at The Daily Beast wrote about Kamala Harris’s Attorney General office keeping inmates locked up so the state could use them for cheap labor.

Just like slavers.

Washington state to provide $40 million in COVID-19 relief for illegal immigrants

Washington is forecast to have an $8.8 billion deficet through 2023

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) has agreed to provide $40 million in COVID-19 relief for illegal immigrants. The fund will be available to illegal immigrants who can't access federal coronavirus relief programs, such as the CARES Act, because of their immigration status.

Individual illegal immigrants who submit an application can receive up to $1,000 if approved, and families are eligible to receive up to $3,000. The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services will select a nonprofit to administer the Immigrant Relief Fund.

"We have to ensure that no one in our state is left behind as we fight this pandemic," Gov. Jay Inslee said in a statement. "COVID-19 doesn't care what your immigration status is. We must support every family affected by the virus, especially those who lack the necessary means to quarantine or isolate and prevent further spread. This is the right thing for the well-being of individuals, the health of their colleagues and the safety of our communities."

"Immigrant workers are critical to communities throughout the state and are the backbone of our economy," Inslee said. "While some have been hit by the economic downturn caused by the pandemic, others face safety risks as frontline workers. And even though immigrants in the United States pay billions of dollars in taxes, they do not receive the same support when a crisis occurs. This is one way to help rectify that situation."

The Pew Research Center estimates that Washington has approximately 240,000 illegal residents, who reportedly pay around $368 million in state and local taxes annually.

"We're excited to have a good chunk of money allocated to our community," Alejandra Perez, an immigration activist from the Seattle area who has been working with the governor's staff, said. "Even though our (original) ask was $100 million."

In May, the Seattle City Council voted unanimously in favor of a resolution requesting emergency economic assistance from the state of Washington for illegal immigrants. The resolution called for the state to create the "Washington Worker Relief Fund," which would allocate at least $100 million to assist illegal immigrants who lost their jobs because of the coronavirus pandemic. The city council voted 9-0 on the resolution, and it was signed by Mayor Jenny Durkan.

Washington's Economic and Revenue Forecast Council predicted the state's current 2019-2021 budget would fall short of revenues by $4.5 billion. The 2021-2023 budget is forecast to have a $4.3 billion budget deficit, according to KING-TV.

In April, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced that California would provide millions of dollars to illegal immigrants in a coronavirus relief fund. Newsom said the state would contribute $75 million in taxpayer funds, while a network of immigration rights organizations have pledged to raise another $50 million for the fund.

In May, Oregon started distributing more than $10 million to illegal immigrants through the Oregon Worker Relief Fund.

Hezbollah Denies Weapons Storage at Beirut Explosion Site, Despite New Evidence

Preliminary investigations by independent observers have found some very disturbing facts that appear to change the narrative on the cause of the massive explosion that damaged or destroyed much of the city of Beirut last Tuesday.

Careful study of video of the blast shot from multiple angles and from multiple sources indicate there was not one but two separate explosions, about 30 seconds apart, and that the second explosion was definitely not from ammonium nitrate.

In addition, the narrative being pushed by Hezbollah and their toadies in the Lebanese government is mostly misinformation. The story told by the terrorists is that the ship originated in Georgia and was bound for Mozambique to drop off a couple of thousand tons of ammonium nitrate. It stopped in Lebanon and was prevented from leaving port for six years because the ship wasn’t seaworthy.

One big problem with that tall tale: the region in Georgia from which the ammonium nitrate was said to have originated has only been exporting it for three years. And there’s more.

Caroline Glick:

Second, as strategic analyst David Wurmser explained in a detailed forensic analysis of the blasts published over the weekend, Lebanese experts claim Beirut, not Mozambique, was always the ship’s true destination. The port inspectors who initially seized the Rhosus told a Lebanese television reporter that Iran paid for the ammonium nitrate cargo.

Wurmser noted Hezbollah controlled both Hangar 12 and Hangar 9, the site of the initial fire. Both hangars were located directly adjacent to the sea—prime real estate for parties keen to bring in and export items without having them examined or noticed by anyone.

As for Mozambique, officials there claim they had no knowledge of the shipment.

For more than a decade, Western authorities have been busting Hezbollah cells in their countries and confiscating thousands of pounds of ammonium nitrate.

Connecting the dots, Wurmser concludes Hangar 12 was not a storage area for a single shipment of ammonium nitrate transiting from Georgia to Mozambique. Instead, it was Hezbollah’s shipping dock for ammonium nitrate to its cells around the world.

The question of more than one blast appears to be cut and dried.

The second aspect of the devastation that points to the true significance of Hezbollah’s control of Lebanon is the fact that Hezbollah and Aoun are lying about the blasts. There were two blasts at the port, 28 seconds apart, not one.

As the videos of the blasts show, about half an hour after the fire broke out at Hangar 9, a first explosion occurred. Whereas the official story claims the blast came from fireworks stored at the warehouse, Wurmser and other experts dismiss this. The explosion, Wurmser explains, “produced thick whitish-gray ‘dirty’ smoke, consistent with some high explosives and even rocket fuel.”

Wurmser contends the second, and most destructive, blast was weapons-grade ammonium nitrate, although arguably a larger quantity than claimed.

Rocket Alert Sirens Sounding in Southern Israel - IDF

Earlier in the day, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said in a statement that "Palestinian rioters" in Gaza "hurled explosives & attempted to approach the security fence" leading to Israel.

The Israeli Defence Forces in the early hours of Sunday morning announced that rocket alert sirens had been heard in southern Israel as a result of two rockets fired by what the IDF claimed were "terrorists in Gaza" into the country.

Both rockets were said to have been intercepted by the IDF's Iron Dome Aerial Defense System.

Videos allegedly showing the rockets fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip were shared in social media.

Earlier in the day, the IDF claimed that "Palestinian rioters" in Gaza "hurled explosives & attempted to approach the security fence", the Palestinian boundary with Israel.

"In response, we just struck Hamas military targets in Gaza. We hold Hamas accountable", IDF tweeted.

On late Friday, IDF stroke Hamas facilities in the Gaza strip, saying that "terrorists launched explosive balloons" as "families in southern Israel enjoyed the weekend". According to IDF, Israel faced several such attacks during the week, responding with airstrikes.

Following the incidents with the balloons, Israel closed Kerem Shalom checkpoint on the border with the enclave, with only humanitarian cargo and fuel delivery allowed. However, later on Thursday Israel decided to stop fuel delivery through the checkpoint as well.

Israel remains in conflict with Hamas, a Palestinian Sunni militant organization in control of the Gaza Strip, and holds it accountable for every attack that comes from the area.

After Nikola Tesla Proved Wireless Electricity was Possible, A Startup Finally Made it a Reality

Nikola Tesla is not the subject of American social studies or science classes. American children do not learn about him in school and this is in spite of the fact that he is considered one of the most influential scientists ever. His visions were motivated by altruism and providing a benefit to all of humanity, not just those who can afford it. One of the ways Tesla envisioned helping the world was providing it with extremely low-cost, or even free, electricity. But with the cost of wires running across continents, this was a futile task. So, Tesla thought outside of the box — getting the wires out of the picture entirely.

Now, his vision is finally coming to fruition.

In 1901 Tesla began his work of a large high-voltage wireless energy transmission station called the Wardenclyffe Tower which was a wireless prototype transmitter for a “World Wireless System” that was to broadcast both information and power worldwide. Over a century ago, Tesla even demonstrated that his technology worked to investors, but they pulled out and the facility was never completed. Establishment science then told the world that his inventions would never work.

But they were wrong.

Fast-forward to 2020 and a startup company named Emrod says it has figured it out.

As Popular Mechanics reports, in a statement, Emrod founder Greg Kushnir says he was motivated by New Zealand’s particular set of skills, à la Liam Neeson in Taken.

We have an abundance of clean hydro, solar, and wind energy available around the world but there are costly challenges that come with delivering that energy using traditional methods, for example, offshore wind farms or the Cook Strait here in New Zealand requiring underwater cables which are expensive to install and maintain.

By removing the requirement for electricity to travel through wire, Emrod can fulfill Tesla’s desire to bring energy to those who cannot afford the infrastructure or those who live in difficult terrain.

There are also environmental benefits to the technology as many places uses diesel generators or other fossil fuels to relay electricity from place to place. Emrod’s technology will remove the need for these stations.

“Energy is transmitted through electromagnetic waves over long distances using Emrod’s proprietary beam shaping, metamaterials and rectenna technology,” Emrod explains.

It is safer too.

Emrod uses beams in the ISM (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) band with frequencies commonly used in WiFi, Bluetooth, and RfID.

Point-to-Point transmission means that power is beamed directly between two points. There is no radiation around the beam, as there is with high voltage wire transmission.

Low power laser safety curtain ensures that the transmission beam immediately shuts down before any transient object (such as a bird or helicopter) can reach the main beam ensuring it never touches anything except clean air.

As PM notes, technology like this would seem implausible because of issues like the loss of signal fidelity over the transmission through the air then through a series of mediating technologies. But Emrod’s relay technology, which it says “refocuses the beam,” doesn’t use any power, and loses almost none.

Democrat Squad Member Ayanna Pressley Calls for “Unrest in the Streets”

As American cities are torched and looted by Antifa and Black Lives Matter terrorists, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) signaled her support for the violence be her fellow progressives, calling for “unrest in the streets” in an appearance Saturday on MSNBC’s AM Joy in comments about the Democrats’ latest attack line on President Trump on the Post Office and mail-in ballots for the November election.

Pressley is one of four members of the radical leftist House freshmen group known as “The Squad’ that also includes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

Video of Pressley’s comments was posted by the RNC to YouTube and Twitter:

“…I’m looking to the public. You know, this is as much about public outcry, and organizing, and mobilizing, and applying pressure so that this GOP-led Senate and that these governors that continue to carry water for this administration, putting American peoples in harm’s way, um, turning a deaf ear to the needs of our families and our communities, hold ’em accountable.

“Make the phone calls, send the emails, show up. You know, there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives and unfortunately there’s plenty to go around.

Transcribed by TGP.

Newsbusters reported that AM Joy guest host Tiffany Cross agreed with Pressley’s call for unrest saying, “I have, I have no retort to that, congresswoman. That’s, that’s certainly accurate. And thank you so much for coming on with me today. I’m looking forward to hearing from you all week as we kick off the Democratic national convention.”

More from MSNBC:

Pressley revealed earlier this year she suffers from alopecia, a disease that causes loss of hair that made her bald and had her wearing wigs to conceal the effects. Pressley decided to forego the wigs and go bald.

Rio Reopens Christ The Redeemer, Other Sites After Virus Closure

Major tourist sites in Rio de Janeiro, including the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue overlooking the Brazilian city, reopened to the public on Saturday after being closed for five months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"The reopening of the Christ (monument) symbolizes the reopening of Brazil to tourism," Environment Minister Ricardo Salles said at a ceremony at the base of the statue.

Visitors will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing, and will not be allowed to lie on the ground – as many do in attempting to get the best angle for photos at the feet of the huge Art Deco statue with its arms outstretched.

Located atop the 710-meter (2,300-feet) Corcovado hill in the center of Rio in Tijuca national park, the monument offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city.

Since social-distancing measures forced its closure in March, Christ the Redeemer has continued to function as a religious sanctuary, offering public masses and holding vigils.

Also reopening to the public on Saturday were the Pao de Acucar cable car, which offers its own panoramic view of the city, the AquaRio aquarium and the gigantic Rio Star, Latin America's largest Ferris wheel.

Brazil's National Confederation of Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC) estimates that the country's tourism sector has lost 154 billion reales ($28.4 billion) over the last five months, operating at only 14 percent of its capacity.

The state of Rio de Janeiro, with 17 million inhabitants, has registered more than 14,500 deaths and nearly 190,000 cases of the novel coronavirus, according to official statistics.

The capital itself, which in June began a gradual economic reopening, has seen 33 deaths and 1,365 new cases in just the last 24 hours.

Police in Georgia move in during right-wing protest after fights break out

Several dozen right-wing demonstrators, some waving the Confederate battle flag and many wearing military gear, gathered in downtown Stone Mountain

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — After several hours of mostly peaceful demonstrations Saturday in an Atlanta suburb that's home to a giant Confederate memorial, large numbers of police moved in to disperse the crowds when fights broke out.

Several dozen right-wing demonstrators, some waving the Confederate battle flag and many wearing military gear, gathered in downtown Stone Mountain where they faced off against a few hundred counterprotesters, many of whom wore shirts or carried signs expressing support for the Black Lives Matter movement. People in both groups carried rifles. For several hours, there was little visible police presence and things were largely peaceful, aside from some shoving and pushing and spirited arguments.

But just before 1 p.m., fights broke out, with people punching and kicking each other and throwing rocks. That's when police officers in riot gear moved in to disperse the crowds.

By 2 p.m., almost all of the protesters had left the area.

Hezbollah “Will Not Remain Silent” If Israeli Involvement In Beirut Blast Confirmed

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on August 14 that the movement “will not remain silent on the crime of bombing the Port of Beirut if it is proven that Israel is behind it.”

According to Nasrallah, Hezbollah would wait for results of an investigation into the Beirut port explosion and if it turns out to be an act of sabotage by Israel then it would “pay an equal price”.

“Hezbollah is concerned with the direct security of the resistance, and we are not able to assume full responsibility for national security with its internal dimension,” he noted.

The leader of Hezbollah made this statement during the televised speech, in which he noted that the two theories under investigation were that either an accident due to negligence, or sabotage caused the explosion of warehoused ammonium nitrate.

The August 4 blast in the Beirut port killed at least 172 172 people and injured 6,000 others. The damage to the city left about 300,000 homeless.
