How in the absolute ever-loving fuck are you supposed to gain traction in life if you can't even get off square one?

Has anyone here older that wasn't born rich figured it out? When you're at the bottom, it's damn near impossible to get off the bottom. I'm not trying to whine, I'm being completely serious; how the fuck do you do it?
