This photo uses negative space and framing very poorly.

 

The Oval Office rug is the primary focus of the photo, The relative scale of the people makes their faces unreadable.

 

Compare it to a tighter shot with sufficient but not excessive headroom. A tighter but still wide frame is much more powerful.

The down angle is also too steep. The White House photographer is over 7 feet tall, literally, and so most of his photos of the president ate steeply downward.

 

In aggregate, these diminish the public image of the president.

 

Eye level is the better angle in almost every Oval Office picture.
