C_A infiltrated the FBI.

 

Operation needed a "Pro-Trump" asset.

 

So Page, who at the behest of the C_A spied on and spoke with Russians, was used to "prove" the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia.

 

With the 3 hop rule they used in the FISA, they could spy on Trump himself (as long as there was at least one person in the campaign who communicated with both Page and with Trump in separate communications.

 

Clinesmith fraudulently and criminally altered an email to include "not an official asset" when referencing Carter Page, knowing full well he was a C_A asset because that is what the C_A told the FBI in writing!

 

They were going to memory hole Page's involvement with the C_A.

Clinesmith changed the email submitted to the FISA court to prevent the FISA court from knowing Page was spying on Russians for the C_A.

 

The FISA judge who approved it, Judge Rudy Contreras, quit soon after.

 

My working theory is that Judge Contreras knew the FBI was submitting a fraudulent application, but he had plausible deniability, e.g. "Whhhaaaat? The FBI withheld evidence from me that Page was an asset? How dare they! I trusted the application to be true."
