(WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- As protest for racial injustice continue across the country, a group with a different cause has begun marching in the streets.

#WheresOurChildren and #SaveTheChildren have been widely used on social media in recent months in order to spread awareness on pedophilia and human sex trafficking. The movement has gained nationwide popularity and multiple marches have taken place in numerous cities across the country and even more a scheduled for the future.

“We as people are just tired of it and we’re not going to stand for it and so everybody is getting out there and we’re getting loud and we are not going to stop until we see something change,” said Co-founder of the Where’s Our Children March Organization Elizabeth Rutherford.

Rutherford says they want to see stricter laws, harder sentences, and an end to protective custody for convicted pedophiles and human sex traffickers.

“Heads need to roll and laws need to change and people need to start standing up for it and not letting people get away with it,” said Rutherford.

Supporters of the movement are also calling on government officials, Hollywood, and the media to give more attention to the growing issues surrounding these issues.

“We wanna know why is everybody silent where is our politicians on this where is our representations where’s Hollywood where is the news” she said, “Our leadership needs to speak up, because silence is concurrent.”

Rutherford says the movements sparked following the arrest and death of Jeffery Epstein in 2019, who was charged federal sex trafficking. The recent arrest of Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell on child sex trafficking charges helped the movements explode nationwide.

Multiple marches are scheduled throughout the country. Here is a list of scheduled marches in North Texas:

Wheres Our Children March Fort Worth- Saturday, August 29th from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Fort Worth Courthouse

March Against Human Trafficking- Saturday, September 5th at 12 P.M. at the Fort Worth Convention Center
