The symbolism also is intriguing. For those who may not know, Milwaukee is one of the few cities that had elected 3 Socialist Party mayors (and other city council) in the Early to Mid 20th Century.
Almost 40 years worth, of course it wasn't an issue for Democrats to hold on to the city thereafter. One Republican Mayor in the very early 20th century who lasted for 2 years.
Other than that, typical liberal segregated run city with all the bells and whistles that comes with letting these politicians go unchecked.
