CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A new unfamiliar robocall is making its way through phones across Canada.

No, its not a CRA scam, or someone claiming you owe money only payable by gift cards, it’s an automated voice saying, “Stay home. Stay safe and stay home.”

Many people on social media reported getting the call:

The earliest call reported on social media was at the beginning of May.

660 NEWS reached out to the Canada Radio-Television and Telecommunications (CRTC) who said it does not comment on ongoing investigations.

Several police departments told 660 NEWS they aren’t investigating the calls as there is no criminal element behind them.

“The Calgary Police Service does not recognize robocalls as a criminal offence where there is no evidence of victimization or phishing for personal information or money,” CPS said in a statement.

For now, it’s still unclear who is behind the mystery robocall.
