A sceptical person (like me) would not be cheering the strikes against Syria, but would note that Syria (and Russia) were effectively warned in advance of these strikes. Since there are a large number of Hezbollah, Palestinian and Iranian forces inside Syria, it is entirely possible that they are beginning to produce chemical weapons without the knowledge of the government of Syria or Russia.

And setting aside Syria details for a moment, Trump's action has gotten his domestic opponents DEMANDING that the CONSTITUTION must be followed. This sure looks like 17D CHESS to me.

Back to Syria. POTUS very clearly identified his target when he said to Russia You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!. His description fits the regime of Saddam Hussein. But that is gone except for a few holdovers who were involved in creating ISIS, and maybe some of them are still alive. But is also fits the current Iranian regime. And that is precisely what I think has happened. The Iranian regime, its Revolutionary Guards, and Hezbollah have leveraged the chaos in Syria to manufacture things away from the prying eyes of US satellites and US spies in Iran proper.

Sorry, but they've been caught, and now they've been dealt with.

Saddam's Iraq and Mullahs' Iran both did it. Saddam is gone. Mullahs remain.

BYE BYE Mullahs. Soon!

Intel good. does not mean there was no FF. There is more than the FSA forces fighting in Syria.

Look at what was hit. Hezbollah, Iranian forces (probably IRGC). The intel was not about the Douma FF, it was about the factories that Iran has been setting up. A few months back we took out a missile factory. Now we have good intel that they are building chemical weapons. This is why the attacks are not focussed on the FSA, but all over the place, where they are hiding their chemical factories.

Russia may have been duped, or they may be in on it. Too soon to tell.

In any case, it is best for Russia, if Americans look at her with suspicion. Same reason why Putin told his people at the beginning of sanctions back in 2014, "WE WON'T HAVE THIS ADVANTAGE FOREVER". In other words, for Russia the sanctions were a good thing and helped Putin to MAKE RUSSIA GREAT AGAIN.

You will never understand another country or people, unless you can put yourself in their chair and look at the world through their eyes.

Russia does not want the USA to be a friend. The USA does not want Russia to be a friend. Both countries had the biggest boost in prosperity when they were enemies in the two decades after WWII.

I believe that POTUS has a strategy that will result in winding down the anti-Russia rhetoric, and recognizing them as a competitor, not someone to hate, but someone to RESPECT, because if we hate them we waste energy and they will surpass us. But if we respect Russia, then we will compete harder, and both countries will become stronger and be able to keep a lid on any other conflicts that may occur on the planet. And when a killer ASTEROID comes our way, we will work together to stop it. Because, on this ship named EARTH, WHERE WE GO ONE, WE GO ALL.
