Magnitude 6.9 Earthquake Strikes Central Philippines - BMKG

A 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the central Philippines on Tuesday local time, according to the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG).

The quake occurred in Samar, an island in the Philippines. The earthquake was felt most strongly in Mapanas, Legazpi, Lezo and Aklan. The next strongest intensity level was felt in Iloilo, followed by Roxas City.

The United States Geological Survey recorded the earthquake as having a 6.7 magnitude. The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported an earthquake of magnitude 6.6.

There are currently no reports of any casualties. A tsunami is not expected.

Indonesia is often struck by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and eruptions because of its location on the Ring of Fire, which is an area roughly coinciding with the Asian, North American and South American shores of the Pacific Ocean, where frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.

According to National Geographic, there are 452 volcanoes in the Ring of Fire. Over the past four centuries, Mayon has erupted 51 times and is considered the most turbulent active volcano in the Philippines.

Special Prosecutor Finds Soros-Funded State’s Attorney Kim Foxx Committed “Abuses of Discretion” in Jussie Smollett Case

Hollywood “washed up” actor Jussie Smollett was let off by the corrupt Cook County State’s Attorney’s office last year after his vicious stunt to smear Trump supporters as homophobic, racists backfired.

Smollett, also referred to as French actor Juicy Smolliet, was later re-charged with six counts related to the alleged hate hoax in February 2020.

In April 2019 Chicago authorities released text messages from corrupt State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. The messages revealed that Kim Foxx continued to intervene in the case in support of Smollett after she recused herself.

It is clear that Kim Foxx lied about her interference in the Jussie Smollett case.

Early in 2019, the former Empire star claimed that he was attacked by MAGA hat-wearing racists who beat him and poured bleach on him in downtown Chicago in the dead of night during below zero weather. But a Chicago police investigation claimed that Smollett invented the attack. Smollett was arrested and charged with the fraud. But Cook County Prosecutor Kim Foxx quickly dismissed the case and released Smollett, dropping the charges.

Foxx’s rush to release Smollett sparked a special investigation into her actions, led by Dan Webb, who began investigating the case. Webb found a number of transgressions committed by Foxx and her office. While Webb demurred in finding that Foxx broke any laws during her involvement in the case, he still noted that many of her actions were dubious, at best, and unethical at worst, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

In one instance, Webb found that Foxx lied about ceasing her communications with Smollett after it became known that the Chicago Police Department was looking to charge him with a crime.

Indeed, Webb discovered records proving that Foxx continued to discuss Smollett’s case with his actress sister, Jurnee Smollett, up to eight times after she publicly claimed she was no longer in contact with the Smolletts.

“State’s Attorney Foxx learned by February 8, 2019, that Mr. Smollett had become a suspect in CPD’s investigation, yet she continued communicating with Ms. Smollett through February 13, 2019, including via five text messages and three phone calls. State’s Attorney Foxx then made false statements to the media claiming she ceased all communications with Ms. Smollett as soon as she learned that Mr. Smollett was a suspect in CPD’s investigation and no longer merely a victim,” Webb said in his summary.

Here’s A List Of Corporations Funding The ‘Defund The Police’ Movement

Prominent corporations from around the world are bankrolling the “defund the police” movement, a Daily Caller News Foundation review found.

Companies including Cisco, Clif Bar, Degree, DoorDash, DropBox, H&M and Pokemon announced donations to organizations that seek to defund the police.

Black Lives Matter Global Network and Color of Change are open about their desire to defund the police.

Both organizations have received an outpouring of corporate donations in recent months.

Dozens of corporations from around the world have collectively donated millions of dollars to left-wing organizations that advocate for defunding America’s police departments, a Daily Caller News Foundation review found.

Companies including Microsoft, Intel and Airbnb have donated to Black Lives Matter Global Network and Color of Change, both of which want to defund police departments across the country.

Color of Change is leading a national petition campaign demanding elected officials “defund the police, and invest in communities now!”

“Policing is a violent institution that must end,” Color of Change President Rashad Robinson said after the Minneapolis City Council voted to “dismantle” its police department.

“We imagine a country where there is enough money to educate our children, care for our sick and feed those who are financially unstable,” Robinson continued. “Defunding the police allows for this vision.”

Black Lives Matter Global Network, the national arm of Black Lives Matter, released a statement on May 30 calling for “a national defunding of police.” The organization published a video on June 6 arguing that “defunding the police is the only way to stop pouring resources into a system that doesn’t keep us safe.”

Both Black Lives Matter and Color of Change have seen a flood of corporate donations since George Floyd, a black man, died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes, according to video.

Clothing company H&M donated $500,000 across three social justice organizations including Color of Change, H&M announced in a June 1 Instagram post.

Clif Bar announced a $100,000 donation split between two groups, including Color of Change, in a June 1 Facebook post.

Cisco announced on June 1 that it was splitting a $5 million donation across four social justice groups, including both Color of Change and Black Lives Matter.

NAACP officials and Democratic state senator hit with felony charges over toppling statue that fell on protester's head

They were charged with conspiracy and injury to a monument

A Virginia state senator and several NAACP officials were slapped with two felony charges over their alleged roles in the destruction of a Confederate statue by a mob in Portsmouth, Virginia. A protester received life-altering injuries in that incident when a statue fell on his head.

Portsmouth Police Chief Angele Greene announced the charges in a media briefing Monday.

"As the result of our efforts in this matter, we have identified and secured arrest warrants of numerous individuals who conspired, organized, and participated in the felonious acts on June 10th. This investigation yielded the same results of holding individuals who commit crimes in our city accountable but was done in a safe manner so that my officers and no other members of the public were harmed," Greene said.

"Therefore on today's date, felony warrants for conspiracy to commit a felony and felony injury to a monument in excess of $1,000, have been obtained for the following individuals: Senator L. Louise Lucas, NAACP representative James Boyd, NAACP representative Louie Gibbs, NAACP representative LaKeesha Atkinson," she continued.

Greene went on to name several school board members, three public defenders and other individuals who were also charged.

"I am asking for these persons with current arrest warrants to immediately turn themselves in to the Portsmouth Police Department," Greene added.

Protester grievously injured

The mob attack on Confederate statues in Portsmouth made national headlines over a video that showed a statue landing on a protester's head after being toppled from its monument.

The video quickly went viral on social media:

The protester who was seriously injured was later identified as Chris Green. His wife said that he flatlined twice on the way to the hospital where he was placed in a medically-induced coma.

After the horrendous incident, many noted that Louise Lucas personally told police officers to stand down as the protesters attacked the statue, and she was caught on video doing so.

"They cannot arrest them because the city owns this property," Lucas said at the time. "Come July 1, they can take it down anyway. So, these police officers cannot arrest them for being on city property. So, I'm going to stand right here and see what's going to happen."

Lucas later demanded that the city manager fire the police chief because she had "abdicated her responsibility to maintain peace and failed to uphold the law."

Police said they are seeking the help of the public to identify others involved in the protests against the Confederate monument.

The family for Green created a GoFundMe account that garnered more than $55,000 in donations to aid in paying his health bills.

Biden and Harris Have Received $155 Million From Financial Sector

Far left set to rally around Wall Street-supported candidates at DNC

Anti-Wall Street crusader Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) is slated to give a speech tonight in support of the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris ticket, a political tandem that has benefited from more than $155 million in financial sector cash in the candidates' respective careers.

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden has benefited from more than $150 million in political contributions from the financial industry since his failed 1988 presidential bid, a Washington Free Beacon review of campaign finance data show. Roughly 40 percent of the money—more than $60 million—has boosted Biden's bid to defeat President Donald Trump.

Biden's running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.), has also benefited heavily from Wall Street's deep-pocketed donors. The California Democrat has received nearly $3.7 million from the financial sector since her first Senate run in 2016. Biden has far outpaced Trump in contributions from employees of the nation's six largest banks, according to an August Politico report. Biden has received more than $907,000 from JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley employees, compared with Trump's roughly $293,000.

Neither Sanders nor the Biden campaign returned requests for comment.

A slew of Wall Street titans have voiced support for the Biden-Harris ticket in recent days, including Citigroup vice chairman Ray McGuire. According to the Wall Street Journal, Biden's selection of Harris confirmed the notion among industry executives that stringent financial regulation would not be a "top priority" should Democrats take the White House.

Biden and Harris's cozy relationships with finance executives help explain the industry's support. Employees at credit card issuer MBNA—which merged with Bank of America in 2006—were Biden's largest source of campaign funds as a senator. The company also hired Hunter Biden to consult at the time the elder Biden rallied behind a bankruptcy bill favored by credit card issuers in 2005.

Harris, meanwhile, tapped Jon Henes—a corporate restructuring partner at law firm Kirkland & Ellis—as national finance chair on her presidential campaign. She went on to raise more than $183,000 in direct contributions from the financial sector during her nearly 11-month run, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Portland DA Actually Vows To Prosecute Violent Terrorists Who Pummeled Truck Driver In Viral Video

Though recently sworn in Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt has elected to drop charges on most of the protesters who have been arrested in Portland over the last 2 1/2 months of nightly “unlawful assemblies” and riots, he has announced that plans on pursuing charges against the terrorists who pulled a man out of his truck and beat him senseless in the street.

Portland police officials say they are investigating a violent assault caught on camera Sunday night that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries.

Video from a witness shows several people beating the driver unconscious after pulling him out of the truck. Police are investigating, and KATU is still trying to find out what happened before the truck crashed.

The Multnomah County District Attorney condemned the actions in the video.

Assaults will not be tolerated in our community. The videos recently posted to social media that show a person being violently pushed to the ground from behind and another person being kicked in the face are extremely concerning. The actions depicted in these videos are universally rejected as wrong – and the actions are illegal. I condemn this violence. Assaults on community members and police officers undermine everything our community is doing to bring meaningful and lasting change to the criminal justice system and beyond. My office is coordinating with law enforcement regarding their investigations into this type of assaultive behavior. Assaults and other violent crimes will be prosecuted when the evidence supports such action. Police said they are still looking into what led up to the assault. According to Portland Police, the driver might have been trying to help a transgender woman who had some of her things stolen near Southwest 4th and Taylor Street, which is where the incident began.

Investigators learned that the victim may have been trying to help a transgender female who had some of her thing stolen in the area of Southwest Taylor and 4th Ave, the location where this incident began. That person has not been contacted and their identity is unknown. Investigators would like to speak to this person.
