The River Fire has destroyed 4,070 acres and threatened 1,527 structures south of Salinas, Calif., on Aug. 17, 2020. As of Tuesday morning the fire remains at a 10% containment, and six structures have been destroyed. Cal Fire reports that they expect full containment by Aug. 30. Over 500 firefighters continue to fight the fire, four have suffered heat exhaustion.
