'Squidbillies' star Unknown Hinson fired over 'extremely offensive' posts about BLM, Dolly Parton
The Adult Swim animated series "Squidbillies" has fired actor Unknown Hinson over "extremely offensive and derogatory social media posts," show creators announced.
After 15 years voicing Early Cuyler, the actor and musician, whose real name is Stuart Baker, was cut from production "effective immediately." According to screenshots on social media, Baker made sexist and racist comments regarding an article in which Dolly Parton showed her support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
"We're aware of the extremely offensive and derogatory social media posts made late last week by Stuart D. Baker," read a statement from Jim Fortier and Dave Willis shared to the official "Squidbillies" Twitter account. "The views he expressed do not reflect our own personal values or the values of the show that we and many others have worked hard to produce over the past 15 years. For those reasons, production of Squidbillies will continue without Mr. Baker, effective immediately."
"And of course Black lives matter," she added. "Do we think our little white (expletive) are the only ones that matter? No!”
Parton also opened up about why she renamed her Dollywood attraction, formerly known as "Dixie Stampede," to “Dolly Parton’s Stampede.”
"Folks, I've been fired from my Cartoon Show, lost my endorsements and my chance of ever being booked by any Music Venue as Unknown Hinson again. I just hope you a**holes are happy you took a good Man and talent down. You succeeded. Be proud that you ruined a person's life all because of [the] Freak Show called 'Dolly Parton and BLM.' Thanks a lot. I gave my best to you assholes for over 30 years. I guess you just love to kick someone when they're down. That's so twisted and perverted. Again, thanks! I'll remember you bastards!"
