How do you get reason into the mind that is crippled by emotion?

How do you convince someone of what is going on when they don't want to be convinced?

How do you try to help someone see the good of a man they have been trained to hate?

How do you help people understand that russia isn't our mortal enemy?

How do you break through the programming?

I thought I was patient, but maybe I'm not. I've written off a lot of people because when I try to reason with them, they spout talking points and -phobes and -isms and base the discussion on their feelings.

I'm tired of it.

I want to help those who need help.

But at some point I stop caring about some people that I can't reach through to.

I'm not sure anon. some people I have tried to reach seem so fargone that they may do something stupid when arrests actually happen.
