Ok…so I'm a bit of a plane fag and here is what I got on the story; The package was to be delivered to Draken International. Draken is a company that has a private fleet of older military aircraft used to help train military crews in various ways. Much of that training - while flying - is 3 dimensional and is recorded using equipment mounted to the aircraft in locations you'd normally mount air-to-air weapons. The equipment that records the telemetry of the aircraft are retrofitted into a missile-like pod that is then attached to the aircraft. Like this: https://nara.getarchive.net/media/ltc-jeff-jacobs-924th-tactical-fighter-group-reserve-adviser-checks-an-acmi-1eea91 It is believed that this was supposed to be attached to one of Draken's French-made fighters after it was modified to be a telemetry pod to record data for review after training scenarios. How it got shipped with explosives still attached is bad, but nobody I know in that world has said it was anything nefarious.
