St. Louis County officers worry Sam Page is defunding police
The Marc Cox Morning Show, August 19, 2020 - 9:29 am
Joe Patterson with the St. Louis County Police Officers Association joins the show to explain the demand made by Page.
At a St. Louis County board meeting, the Page administration proposed a $7M cut to the police department. This would mean taking pay raises (overwhelmingly approved by voters - see Prop P) away from officers or eliminating officers.
Councilman Tim Fitch tweeted the following:
Watching @stlcountypd police board meeting. Page administration wants $7 million cut to PD. This would have to be accomplished with 100 layoffs of existing employees or gut the pay raises approved by the council last year. Why is this the first time we're hearing this?
