Teen Tried to Smuggle 158 Pounds of Liquid Meth into Texas, Say Feds

El Paso Sector Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a U.S. teenager for allegedly attempting to smuggle 158 pounds of liquid methamphetamine through a pedestrian border crossing from Mexico.

CBP officers assigned to the Ysleta Port of Entry on August 14 observed a teenager approaching on foot for entry into the United States. The young man attempted to enter the U.S. with multiple cases of water bottles, according to information obtained from El Paso Sector CBP officials.

The initial screening officer directed the 18-year-old U.S. citizen to a secondary inspection area. During the secondary inspection, a CBP K-9 alerted to an odor it is trained to detect, officials reported. The agents then conducted an X-ray scan on the water bottles and determined they were filled with a “dense liquid.”

Further testing identified the fluid as 158 pounds of liquid methamphetamine.

The officers placed the U.S. citizen teenager under arrest and turned him and the drugs over to ICE Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.

Breitbart Texas reached out to El Paso Sector CBP officials for more information about the failed drug smuggling attempt. A CBP spokesman said the agency estimates the value of the 158 pounds of liquid meth to be just under $3.8 million.

“The primary CBP officer on duty was thorough and focused and was able to identify this pedestrian as a person who needed additional scrutiny,” said CBP Ysleta Port of Entry Director Arnie Gomez in a written statement.

Elsewhere in the Southern District of Texas, CBP officers in the Rio Grande Valley Sector seized more than 500 pounds of methamphetamine and cocaine during the past week at three ports of entry, Breitbart Texas reported. Since August 10, CBP officers in South Texas seized more than $17 million in meth and cocaine.

Racism cured? Elizabeth Warren displays alphabet toys spelling BLM in background during DNC speech, gets ridiculed

US Senator Elizabeth Warren’s attempt at a Black Lives Matter nod was mocked on Twitter after she had the letters BLM spelled out with toy alphabet letters in the background of her video address to the DNC.

The progressive senator spoke to the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday from a childhood education center, located in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Warren’s speech was mainly about her support for Joe Biden’s presidential bid and the problems she had with Donald Trump’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, she apparently decided to include some topical symbolism by arranging toy alphabet letters behind her to spell BLM, meaning “Black Lives Matter.”

The decision came under fire following her address, as people derided the anti-racist Easter egg for not being substantive or at least subtle.

Russian Opposition Leader Alexei Navalny Allegedly Poisoned

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who has been frequently arrested and legally harassed for his unrelenting criticism of President Vladimir Putin, became seriously ill while flying from Siberia to moscow on Thursday and was placed on a ventilator. Navalny spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh claimed he has been poisoned.

“We assume that Alexei was poisoned with something mixed into the tea. It was the only thing that he drank in the morning. Doctors say the toxin was absorbed faster through the hot liquid,” Yarmysh said via Twitter.

The Associated Press quoted Yarmysh, who was on the plane with Navalny, saying he began to sweat profusely and asked her to keep talking to him so he could “focus on the sound of a voice.” She said he passed out while using the restroom and has not regained consciousness since.

“Looks like Putin is doing really badly – was handed some data on protest sentiment growing explosively – if he made the decision to poison Navalny,” Navalny ally Vladimir Milov said when news of his condition broke.

CNN described video footage taken aboard the plane that appeared to show 44-year-old Navalny groaning in distress, and later showed him being transported to an ambulance in a wheelchair. The plane made an emergency landing in Siberia, and Navalny is currently a patient in the acute poisoning unit of a hospital in Omsk.

The head physician of the hospital told reporters Navalny is on a ventilator and in serious condition, but stable. He said poisoning “is considered as one of the possible reasons for the deterioration of his state,” but added there could be “a number of conditions that started acutely and led to the same clinical reactions.”

According to Yarmysh, the hospital prevented Navalny’s wife Yulia from visiting him because she didn’t bring her marriage certificate and he did not consent to see her. Yarmysh sounded deeply skeptical of this explanation.

“They’re not letting her in because ‘the patient has not agreed to a visitor.’ They’re literally saying that,” she snorted. If nothing else, it seems odd to expect a comatose patient to give his consent for a visitor.

Yarmysh was also deeply skeptical of state media reports that the police think it is “not unlikely” that Navalny had an allergic reaction to something he consumed, rather than being poisoned.

“Of course. It’s just the tea was bad. This is what the state propaganda is going to do now — yell that there was no deliberate poisoning, he [did something] accidentally, he [did something] himself,” she said sarcastically on Twitter, with edits from the Associated Press.

UAE vessel seized by Iran for violating territorial waters, Tehran announces

Iran has disclosed that it seized a ship from the United Arab Emirates earlier this week, after the vessel trespassed in its territorial waters. Two Iranian fishermen were reportedly also killed by UAE coast guards the same day.

Iranian security forces took control of the UAE-registered ship on Monday, after it was “detained due to illegal traffic,” Iran’s foreign ministry announced on Thursday.

In a separate incident on the same day, the ministry said that UAE security forces had shot and killed two Iranian fishermen and seized their boat. Iran summoned the UAE ambassador over the altercation, according to reports. The Iranian fishing boat and its crew were later released.

“The UAE has expressed regret for the incident and in a letter on Wednesday announced its readiness to pay compensation,” Tehran said.

The UAE’s state-run WAM news agency reported on Monday that eight fishing boats had illegally crossed into the nation’s waters near Bu Nair Island in the Persian Gulf. The outlet claimed that the vessels did not stop when ordered-to and “rules of engagement were applied.”

Russia to begin vaccination of medics against COVID-19 next week

It will be carried out concurrently with the post-registration trials, according to the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund that financed the research and production of the Sputnik V vaccine

MOSCOW, August 20. /TASS/. Russia will begin to vaccinate medics against COVID-19, a disease caused by the novel coronavirus, next week. The vaccination of medics will be carried out concurrently with the post-registration trials, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev told reporters on Thursday.

"Vaccination of high-risk groups (medical professionals) will begin at the same time as the post-registration clinical trials. The people who will receive the vaccine will be duly monitored to ensure that all procedures are followed. After the registration, vaccination can begin, which will take place in Russia, for the most part," Dmitriev stated.

He added that the vaccination of high-risk groups would be voluntary, just like the vaccination of the Russian population on the whole.

On August 11, Russia became the first country to register a coronavirus vaccine, which was named Sputnik V. Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko informed that the vaccine created by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology had shown its effectiveness and safety on the outcomes of clinical trials. It is based on a platform that had been used for the development of a number of other vaccines. According to the Russian Health Ministry, practice shows that such vaccines are capable of developing long-term immunity that lasts for up to two years.

Deputy Director of the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology Denis Logunov said that on the outcomes of the clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine, volunteers developed no serious side effects. The most common side effects documented after vaccination are pain in the injection area, hypothermia and headache, he explained.

Fear fatigue is more dangerous than COVID-19

Our daily lives are filled with risks — lots of risks. Just look at these examples:

• Every year, 30,000 to 40,000 Americans die in automobile accidents, yet none of us is willing to give up cars to avoid the possibility of dying in a crash.

• Heart disease kills more than 600,000 of our fellow citizens annually, yet we continue to eat fast food and pack on extra pounds.

• Diabetes puts more than 80,000 Americans into their graves each year, yet we do not ban the use of sugar.

• Close to 50,000 Americans take their own lives annually, yet we have instituted COVID-19 policies that have increased the incidence of suicide to the highest levels seen since the Great Depression.

• Millions of children are infected with influenza each year, and hundreds die from the disease. But we have never closed our schools or insisted on masking the population to prevent the spread of flu.

• Child abuse and child sex-trafficking are at record levels in this country, and many specialists believe that it is due, in part, to our schools being closed while adults are unable to go their normal daily routines.

The CDC estimated that as many as 500,000 people died worldwide from the H1N1 virus in 2009 — the first year that that virus circulated. Overall, 80 percent of H1N1 virus–related deaths were thought to have occurred in people younger than 65 years of age. Despite this, we didn't close the schools, mask the population, or shut down the economy.

In 1968, the Hong Kong Flu killed approximately 4 million people globally. Not only did we not shut down our economy in the face of that staggering number, but the three-day Woodstock Rock Festival in upstate New York was held in the midst of the epidemic.

Isn't it time we stopped living our lives and dictating what we can and cannot do based on fear of every new danger? Instead, shouldn't we let each individual decide what risks he is willing to take?

The famous declaration in President Franklin D. Roosevelt's first inaugural address seems as apropos today as it was in 1933: "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

We are Americans — the freest, most prosperous society in the history of the world. We fought to end slavery, losing over 600,000 Americans in the Civil War. We fought in two world wars and played a dominant role in winning both. Those wars cost the lives of more than 500,00 Americans.

We take risks to enjoy the freedom they gave us — or at least we used to. We ride motorcycles, skydive, climb mountains, and drive too fast. We eat the wrong foods, drink too much alcohol, and live in ways that are often not healthy — and we cherish our right to do so.

Main Suspect In Brutal Attack At BLM Protest Seeks Donations While Evading Police

When I testified on the violence in current protests in cities like Portland, most of the Democratic senators insisted that violence in Portland was due to the arrival of federal officers to protect the federal courthouse and that the violence subsided after the federal officers were withdrawn. As other witnesses pointed out, the violence had been raging for weeks and a riot was declared by the Portland police the very night before. The violence has indeed continued though the coverage has been light, including the arson at a county government building yesterday. One of the most shocking incidents involve the attack at a Black Lives Matter demonstration of a man who was beaten after people filmed and mocked him. Police say one of the chief attackers was Marquise Love, 25, and he is someone already familiar to police. In an interesting twist, Love is now reportedly raising funds while on the run from police.

The attack in Portland was vicious and various individuals attacked Adam Haner but Love is allegedly the individual who kicked him in the head. It was captured on video.

Love has seven arrests in Washington County, Oregon alone. This includes a 2017 arrest for domestic assault and domestic harassment. He also has two separate arrests in 2016 for providing false information in connection with the transfer of a firearm, and domestic assault and criminal trespass.

VOX MP Claims MSM and Social Media Companies Censor His Party While Covering Up Far-Left Violence

Spanish populist MP Iván Espinosa, a member of VOX, has claimed that social media companies are censoring his party, while the mainstream media often fail to report on far-left violence against VOX party members.

Mr Espinosa told Breitbart London the current undercurrent of tech censorship that conservatives are seeing in the United States and elsewhere was happening in Spain on a “much larger scale”, and said the party already faced near unilateral opposition from the mainstream media.

“Our frontman in the south of Spain, who is an expert on illegal trafficking, who was showing us video footage on a daily basis of how people smugglers are bringing in illegal immigrants from Africa has seen his [Twitter] account suspended for five days,” Espinosa claimed.

The populist member of parliament went on to add that some members of the party often received warnings or suspensions on Facebook-owned Instagram, sometimes over personal pictures. “I’ve uploaded pictures of my kids or my family and it gets tagged as sensitive content,” he said.

“It’s pretty bad considering that social media is the only way we actually do get to express our views and opinions,” he said and claimed the party is rarely invited on national television programmes or given newspaper interviews, despite being the third-largest party in the Spanish parliament.

“Everything is considered potentially offensive,” he said and added that it was considered “racist” to suggest that African migrants should not attempt to cross the Mediterranean, noting that some migrants end up drowning while trying to cross to Spain illegally.

“Spain has traditionally been a sort of training lab for the extreme left,” he said and claimed far-left extremists have been trying out different policies first in Spain since the Spanish civil war during the 1930s.

Biden Goes Global: ‘Build Back Better’ Plan Modeled After United Nations Disaster Relief Program

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda for combatting the coronavirus pandemic and its economic effects has its foundation in an international disaster relief program designed by the United Nations, a review of the origins of the framework and terminology reveal.

Biden’s “Build Back Better” plan, unveiled last month, has become a central part of his campaign. He and his newly announced running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) tout it at every turn, and Democrats top to bottom sung its praises on the opening day of the Democratic National Convention this week.

While “Build Back Better” may sound like a catchphrase to heal the country, its history as a global framework used by international organizations and conglomerates for disaster relief building is more complicated. Nations, like Japan in the wake of its deadly 2011 earthquake, have used the framework and its central planning components to rise out of disaster. More recently, however, it has formed the centerpiece of progressive climate change programs, like the Paris Climate Accord — which Trump has exited and Biden promises to re-enter if elected.

By embracing “Build Back Better,” Biden and Democrats are laying out a vision for how to use the current crisis to not only reshape the United States in a progressive fashion, but also integrate it further into the global community.

“Tonight, I am asking you to believe in Joe and Kamala’s ability to lead this country out of these dark times and build it back better,” former President Barack Obama told the convention Wednesday.

The scale of that effort, as Obama described, remains to be seen, but prior frameworks based on “Build Back Better” may provide some clues.

Poland Announces New Washington-Friendly Foreign Minister in Government Shakeup

WARSAW, Poland (AP) – Poland’s prime minister on Thursday appointed new ministers of foreign affairs and health, important postings that will help guide the conservative government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and upheaval in neighboring Belarus.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told reporters in Warsaw that the new foreign minister will be Zbigniew Rau, a law professor and local politician from Lodz who has expertise in the relationship with the United States – Poland’s most valued ally.

Rau replaces Jacek Czaputowicz, who announced his resignation earlier on Thursday, in what had been an expected move.

The newly named health minister is Adam Niedzielski, an economist who has worked many years in different areas of public administration and has most recently been the head of the national health service.

Morawiecki said Niedzielski is the right person for the job as the nation braces for a second wave in the coronavirus pandemic as well as longstanding structural problems in the health service.

“This is a person who we need very much because the health service in the coming months and quarters will be better able to survive the second wave of the coronavirus the more we are modernized,” Morawiecki said.

Niedzielski replaces Lukasz Szumowski, a cardiologist, who resigned earlier this week amid allegations of wrongdoing in the procurement of medical equipment needed to fight the virus.

Szumowski denied any wrongdoing and said he wants to return to practicing medicine.

Ariana Grande Concert Terror Bombing Plotter Sentenced to Minimum of 55 Years in Prison

Hashem Abedi, convicted of 22 murders for his part in his brother Salman’s suicide bombing of the Manchester Arena in 2017, has been sentenced to a minimum of 55 years in prison.

The radical Islamic terrorist, 23, was convicted of 22 counts of murder for organising the attack on the Ariana Grande concert with his brother in March, having been extradited from Libya to stand trial.

The Abedis’ father, a member of the Salafi jihadist Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, came to Britain as a refugee, but returned with his family after Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s overthrow in a botched Western intervention championed by Barack Obama and David Cameron.

The brothers were brought to Britain by the Royal Navy in an evacuation operation in 2014 as the North African country descended into warlordism, allowing Salman to carry out his attack — although Hashem ultimately made his way back again.

“The stark reality is these were atrocious crimes; large in scale, deadly in intent, appalling in their consequences,” sentencing judge Jeremy Baker said of the Manchester murders, saying Hashem Abedi was “equally culpable” as his suicide bomber brother for the attack.

“The despair and desolation of the bereaved families has been palpable,” Baker added — although Abedi himself was not present for either the victim impact statements or sentencing in court, having refused to leave his cell.

It is not known if he will be subject to contempt of court proceedings for his actions.

Abedi could not be given a whole-life sentence, according to the judge and prosecutors, as Labour era legislation which the Conservatives have not changed prohibits such sentences for convicts under the age of 21 at the time of their crimes, and Abedi was a few months shy of his 21st birthday when the Manchester bombing took place.

He will not necessarily be released after 55 years, as it will be open to the authorities to deny his parole.

However, the Parole Board has released people convicted of shocking crimes before, such as triple child murderer David ‘The Monster of Worcester’ McGreavy, who was freed in 2019 without the mother of his victims being consulted.

Your Brain, With a USB Port in It: Elon Musk’s Neuralink Vision Divides Experts

“We are very far from understanding what’s happening in the brain”

Your brain, with a USB-C port in it. That’s Elon Musk’s vision for Brain Machine Interfaces (BMI). In a controversial July 2019 white paper he claimed that his company Neuralink had taken a huge step towards building a “scalable high-bandwidth BMI system” that would let the human brain “stream full broadband electrophysiology data” to a network, using a combination of ultra-fine polymer probes, a neurosurgical robot that sews them into the brain, and custom high-density electronics.

A “single USB-C cable provides full-bandwidth data streaming from the device” the paper noted: the device having been stitched, in theory, to your cerebral cortex. Neuroscientists were varying shades of intrigued, appalled and dismissive: the custom hardware would only pick up noise, they suggested: interpretation of brain waves simply wasn’t that advanced; the ethical issues were pronounced; the body would reject this level of intervention; where was the peer review of the paper?

A year later, Musk has promised a Neuralink update.

This was cryptically announced by Musk in July 2020, with the Tweets: “If you can’t beat em, join em Neuralink mission statement” and “Progress update August 28”. Ten days ahead of the reveal, we decided to take stock of Neuralink’s work’s and the ongoing discussion around the potential of BMI; speaking to a range of specialists in the sector about where the work was going and how realistic Musk’s vision was.

Neuralink began as a way to advance the technology of BMI: described by one organisation, the Mayo Clinic, as a technology that “acquires brain signals, analyses them and translates them into commands that are relayed to output devices that carry out desired actions”. (Many observers suspect that the pending update will have to do with the “analyse them” part of that statement, and Musk’s “if you can’t beat ’em” statement refer to his well-documented concerns about the power of AI.)

These “desired actions” could be how to move a wheelchair without the use of your arms or how to control bionic limbs: “It is plausible to imagine that a patient with spinal cord injury could dexterously control a digital mouse and keyboard” wrote Musk in the 2019 paper. “When combined with rapidly improving spinal stimulation techniques, in the future this approach could conceivably restore motor function. High-bandwidth neural interfaces should enable a variety of novel therapeutic possibilities”.

Green California has the nation's worst power grid

More than a million Californians suffered power blackouts last Friday evening. When high temperatures caused customer demand to exceed the power available, California electrical utilities used rotating outages to force a reduction in demand. The California grid is the worst in the nation, with green energy policies pursued by the state likely furthering reduced grid reliability.

At 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Pacific Gas and Electric, California’s biggest utility, began shutting off power in rolling outages to force a reduction in demand. Southern California Edison also denied power to homes, beginning just before 7 p.m. Shutoffs impacted a rotating group of up to 2 million customers until 11 p.m.

The California Independent System Operator declared a Stage Three Electrical Emergency, the first such emergency since 2001. Spot electricity prices soared to more than $1,000 per megawatt-hour, more than 10 times the usual price.

In 2018, 19% of California’s electricity came from rooftop and utility-scale solar installations, the highest percentage in the nation. But by 6:30 p.m. each day, that solar output approaches zero. The state lacks enough reliable electricity generation capacity to run everyone's air conditioner during hot summer evenings.

California has the least reliable electrical power system in the United States. It isn't even close. According to data by Eaton Corporation, the Golden State leads the U.S. in power outages every year, with more than twice as many as any other state over the last decade.

The causes of power outages can be divided into four major groups. In order of importance, these are weather or downed trees, faulty equipment or human errors, unknowns, and vehicle accidents. California suffered the largest number of outages in each category in each year for 2014 through 2017.

For more than a decade, California has been closing coal and nuclear power plants. Recently, the state also began closing natural gas-fired plants as part of a continuing effort to fight global warming.

In 2006, Senate Bill 1368 established California’s Emissions Performance Standard, an effort to reduce state greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. Since 2007, 11 in-state, coal-fired plants have been closed as a result, with an additional three converted to biomass fuel. California also slashed imports of electricity generated from coal plants. The Argus Cogen plant in Trona is the last remaining coal-fired plant.

California nuclear plants, though not emitters of greenhouse gases, are also being phased out. The second and third units of the San Onofre nuclear generating plant near Los Angeles ceased operation in 2013. The Diablo Canyon plant, the last nuclear plant in California, is scheduled for closure in 2025.

Military border deployments are legally good-to-go, IG finds

The Pentagon’s mobilization of thousands of troops to the U.S.-Mexico border is fully legal, the Defense Department’s inspector general confirmed in a report released Tuesday.

In providing aviation support, installing concertina wire and staffing mobile surveillance sites, the IG found, the troops are fully compliant with federal law and DoD policy.

“Additionally, we determined that DoD title 10 personnel had limited contact with civilians or migrants and contact that did occur was acceptable under DoD policy,” according to the report, which surveyed troops from October 2018 to December 2019.

Under pressure from Congress, the IG announced a review late last year.

“Based on several requests, we have decided to conduct an evaluation, in accord with our standard processes, to examine the use of military personnel along the southern border,” Glenn Fine, then the principal deputy inspector general performing the duties of the inspector general, said in a December memo. “In this evaluation, we will examine, among other issues, what they are doing at the border, what training they received, and whether their use complied with applicable law, DoD policy, and operating guidance. We intend to conduct this important evaluation as expeditiously as possible.”

Though all use of troops and funds was legal, according to the report, the IG recommended that Northern Command beef up on Standing Rules for Use of Force training ― which dictates how troops would engage with migrants or other civilians while patrolling the border ― for any troops who were not re-trained before deployment, and to create procedures to ensure that commanders are documenting completed training for their troops.

Israel concerned Saudis might get nuclear arms with 'China's help'

Following reports that this is a specific concern of Israel,Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says he believes it is a “real risk” that Saudi Arabia will get nukes, and that the US views it as a “top priority” to try to prevent the Saudis from getting such arms.

Recent reports, all centering on the Israeli narrative, claim the Saudis are processing yellowcake uranium, and that they are getting secret help from China that could lead to the acquisition of nuclear arms in the future.

This is an unusual place for the administration to be in, as they general support arming the Saudis to the teeth, and Pompeo has repeatedly gone to bat for the idea that the Saudis need more arms for their “emergency” state. Those are US-made arms, of course.

The concern may be that getting arms from China will change the power structure of the Middle East, with Pompeo saying China’s offer is “too good to be true.” It’s not clear what China offered, or if they offered anything at all, and Saudi interest in nuclear energy could easily explain away the uranium processing.

FBI refuses to delete 'reckless' tweet link to the anti-Semitic 'Protocols of Learned Elders of Zion' that is in its library and which inspired Hitler's 'Mein Kampf'

The FBI has been slammed over a 'reckless' tweet where it shared a link to the anti-Semitic hoax text 'The Protocols of Learned Elders of Zion' that inspired Hitler's 'Mein Kampf'.

The FBI Records Vault, the bureau's Freedom of Information Act Library consisting of thousands of files and records, tweeted a link to a 139-page selection of files on 'The Protocols of the Elders of Zion' Wednesday afternoon.

The tweet provided no context or information other than the title of the notorious text, leading many outraged social media users to accuse the bureau of condoning and even promoting the text's anti-Semitic messaging.

The Auschwitz Memorial, which preserves the site of the Nazi concentration camp where millions of Jewish people died in the Holocaust, blasted the FBI for sharing the files without any 'context'.

'The Protocols of the Elders of Zion' was a hoax text that claimed to prove Jews were planning world domination.

It was first published in Russia in 1903 before being translated into multiple languages and shared worldwide.

Despite being proven as a hoax in 1921, it was widely circulated by automaker and anti-Semite Henry Ford through the 1920s, was used in Nazi propaganda to justify the persecution of Jews and continues to be held up as genuine by neofascist groups despite being proven to be a hoax.

Study: 12 Percent of Voters in Virginia Could Be Registered Illegally

Findings could lead to changes in voting laws

Up to 12 percent of registered voters in Virginia could be on the rolls illegally, according to a new white paper circulating among officials at the Department of Justice's front office and members of Congress.

Using data from one Virginia county's jury pools, which are largely drawn from voter registration rolls, the study conducted by the National Election Integrity Task Force, found that 3 percent of the prospective jury pool—a total of 12,917 people—were ineligible to serve due to self-reporting as non-citizens, who are not allowed to vote under federal law. One percent self-reported as convicted felons, who are also ineligible to vote. An additional 2 percent were "likely unlawful participants due to self-reporting as non-English speaking," and another 6 percent "are worthy of further investigation due to the undeliverability, and non-response, to the solicitation for jury duty, which is a crime in Virginia."

Taken together and extrapolating the data, the authors estimate up to 12 percent of voters in the entire state of Virginia could be registered illegally. "At this point in time, the entire Virginia voting roll should be considered untrustworthy and invalid," the paper argues.

The study calls for a federal audit of the Virginia voter registration rolls and Department of Justice enforcement of voter ID laws on a state level. It comes at a time when President Donald Trump and administration officials have been raising alarms about illegal ballot activity in the 2020 election. Earlier this month, Trump said he would oppose a funding increase for the U.S. Postal Service due to concerns about fraud in universal mail-in voting.

Attorney General William Barr's chief of staff's office and seven Republican members of Congress have been briefed on the findings, which has prompted "executive and legislative branch discussions," according to the NEITF.

One of the study's authors, John Mills, a former Department of Defense director for cybersecurity policy, said the study's findings indicate that there are ineligible voters who have been registered to vote in the state.

"The point of fraud is at registration, so once you're registered you're in the system," said Mills.

Nearly half of British parents will NOT get their children vaccinated against Covid-19, poll claims

Almost half of UK parents won't vaccinate their child against coronavirus when a jab becomes available, a poll has claimed.

Forty-five per cent of the 5,000 respondents admitted they would not give a Covid-19 vaccine to their child.

A fifth of parents who didn't want to vaccine their children said they believe the virus is 'fake and doesn't really exist'.

Five out of six of those parents (86 per cent) argued the vaccination would be unsafe with 'nasty' side effects.

And over a third (35 per cent) answered that there was no need because children are 'practically immune' from the virus.

The coronavirus scandal becomes criminal: Elderly hospital patients who tested positive WERE discharged BACK into UK care homes

Health authorities have finally admitted that they transferred patients back to nursing homes after they were found to have the virus. This almost certainly caused the deaths of others and manslaughter charges should follow.

We've known for some time now that the failure to protect residents in care homes for the elderly has been a major factor in coronavirus death tolls in many parts of the world. But a recent newspaper report has added a new dimension to the scandal.

Here in Scotland, as in other parts of the UK, there has been outrage that elderly people in hospital were discharged into care homes without being tested for Covid-19 in a desperate rush to clear hospital beds. That seems incredibly negligent. But now we have confirmation that patients were sent to care homes after testing positive for Covid-19. That seems downright criminal.

Last weekend, a Scottish Sunday newspaper, the Sunday Post, reported that at least five local health boards decided to transfer patients into care homes despite positive tests, amounting to at least 37 patients. Another six health boards said they either didn't transfer such patients or waited at least until the patients would no longer be infectious. But the figures could be much higher. Of the two biggest health boards approached, NHS Lothian (which covers Edinburgh) didn't respond and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said it would be too expensive to check its records to find out.

Moving Covid-19 patients into care homes is lunacy beyond belief, taking them from settings with high standards of hygiene and medical facilities into care homes which were simply not equipped to keep coronavirus cases in proper isolation and which are full of the people most vulnerable to the disease – the old.

Care homes are also notoriously under-staffed, so it would be difficult, if not impossible, to allocate staff just to take care of these infected patients – especially when many care staff themselves were falling ill or being asked to self-isolate.

For example, BBC Scotland’s Disclosure programme, broadcast in July, found that the authorities were warned about staff shortages at care homes on 179 occasions between April 3 and June 17. In particular, the programme found that 30 ‘red’ warnings were issued to care homes by the Care Inspectorate during this period because there were insufficient staff to care for patients properly, even for routine care.

Travis Air Force Base Evacuating as Wildfire Rages

Travis Air Force Base, California, is immediately evacuating all non-mission essential personnel as a growing wildfire threatens the area.

Officials announced Wednesday that personnel living in base housing or staying in lodging facilities must evacuate immediately, according to a release.

"Mission essential personnel should contact their chain of command for duty status," the release states.

The evacuation order comes as the LNU Lightning Complex Fire continues to burn in nearby Fairfield and Vacaville, California. The base is adhering to the Solano County Fire Department's mandatory evacuations, the service said. Travis Air Force Base is located northeast of San Francisco.

The fire, spanning five counties and 124,100 acres, has been active for two days, with limited containment, according to California wildfire data.

"There is currently no lodging available on Travis Air Force Base and members are directed to stay with family or friends, proceed to evacuation centers, or secure commercial lodging outside of the evacuation area," the release states.

Personnel have been told to leave through the south and north gates and to avoid leaving via the main or hospital gate, it adds. The base is also standing up an Emergency Family Assistance Center aid in relocation orders.

Families who need emergency financial assistance as a result of the fires can contact the Red Cross.

"Once the evacuation order has been lifted, additional information will be released through the comptroller squadron regarding reimbursement of lodging and per diem expenses for mandatory evacuees," the release states.

The LNU Fire has damaged more than 175 structures, including housing and commercial facilities, per CalFire. No injuries have been reported.

Air Force C-130 cargo aircraft designed for firefighting are already battling wildfires scorching thousands of acres across the state.

The Air National Guard has activated several units that use the specialized Modular Airborne Firefighting System, or MAFFS, which drops hundreds of pounds of fire retardant out of a C-130.

According to Air Force Magazine, four C-130s from the California Air National Guard's 146th, the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153rd, and Nevada Air National Guard's 152nd Airlift Wings have been dropping retardant on blazes including the Lake Fire north of Santa Clarita, the Salt Fire near Stockton, and the LNU Fire.

The Air Force Reserve Command's 302nd Air Expeditionary Group out of Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, is managing the requests, according to Air Forces Northern. Since July, the aircraft collectively have made more than 100 drops against wildfires in the state.
