Advancing Detection and Treatment of Cervical Cancer

Commitment by Population Services International

In 2014, Population Services International (PSI) India, committed to deploy its social franchise network to provide essential cervical cancer prevention and treatment services for women in Uttar Pradesh. The network is comprised of obstetrician/gynecologist medical doctors who have worked with PSI since 2008 to provide high-quality, long term family planning services. The project will enlist more than 80 franchised clinics, including pharmacies and other outlets offering health services within the network, across three districts of the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. PSI will develop a training module for health workers in these clinics on the 'screen and treat' approach and will conduct regular quality assurance audits throughout the lifetime of the project.
