ooooh-kaaay

Biden's speech, compared to nomination speeches in general, was a D-. It was too long and offered nothing specific.

otoh: given his performances in the campaign, thus far, he gets a B+. it makes me wonder:

how much of his prior stammering and gaffing was forced?

the DNC hates him, but they were stuck with him after the primary. so did they offer a deal?

"Joe, set yourself up for stepping aside in year one via 25th Am. We, in turn, will protect you and Hunter for Ukraine, China, etc. But you're just a placeholder, and never forget it. You'll get to be a president, and that should be enough, as long as it last longer than Pres. Harrison's 30 days."

Of course, they need him to win. And they need him to be as "sharp" as he was tonight, in a debate, and without a teleprompter. The afterglow of his surprisingly serviceable performance will last as long as a paper match.
