There are many factions in Syria which are working for the forces of evil, and the easiest way to deal with them is under the cover of something else. Do you seriously think that Russia wouldn't respond to an attack on Syrian loyalist forces after loudly proclaiming that they would? Of course not.

And for those claiming that q and potus need to earn their trust; If they haven't already, they never will.
