Chicago City Council Members Call For State Of Emergency Declaration, Request National Guard

A group of Chicago City Council members requested that Democratic Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker immediately declare a state of emergency in Chicago and deploy the national guard in light of ongoing rioting and looting in the city.

The City Council held a special meeting Friday to consider the resolution. The governor was asked to deploy the national guard for a period of 4 months to assist local law enforcement in quelling the unrest.

The council members also asked for monthly public safety hearings and “reports regarding the collective and unified efforts to address the rioting, looting, destruction, and most importantly, the safety of all Chicagoans.” (RELATED: ‘I Make No Apologies Whatsoever’: Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Defends Banning Protesters From Her Block, Citing Safety Concerns)

Demonstrations have been ongoing in Chicago for months. The city was struck with another wave of violence following a police shootout Sunday, where a 20-year-old man reportedly shot at police and was injured when police returned fire.

False information circulated on social media regarding the incident, including a claim that the suspect was 15 years old.

“Right now we are 3 months into turmoil, destruction, looting, and rioting,” alderman Anthony Napolitano, one of the council members who signed the resolution, said during the Friday meeting. “All I’m asking for is a conversation.”

Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said at a news conference that 2 of the 4 council members who signed the resolution “unfortunately have a history of grandstanding,” NBC5 reported. She accused the aldermen of “trying to seek media attention.”

Biden tells ABC he'd shut down the entire country if scientists told him to. About all he knows how to do is shut down and stay inside so this is right up his alley.

Former Vice President Joe Biden said in an exclusive interview with ABC "World News Tonight" Anchor David Muir on Friday that as president, he would shut the country down to stop the spread of COVID-19 if the move was recommended to him by scientists.

“I would shut it down; I would listen to the scientists,” Biden told Muir Friday, alongside his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., during their first joint interview since officially becoming the Democratic Party’s presidential and vice presidential nominees.

Biden also criticized what he argued is the “fundamental flaw” of the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, that the nation cannot begin to recover economically until the virus and public health emergency is under control.

“I will be prepared to do whatever it takes to save lives because we cannot get the country moving, until we control the virus,” Biden said. “That is the fundamental flaw of this administration's thinking to begin with. In order to keep the country running and moving and the economy growing, and people employed, you have to fix the virus, you have to deal with the virus.”

Watch “The Ticket: The First Interview,” a special edition of “20/20,” airing Sunday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, in which “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir and “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts conduct the first joint interview with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris.

California pays stealth Dem activists to manage ‘non-partisan’ mail-in ballots

As the state of California prepares to send mail-in ballots to more than 20 million registered voters ahead of the general election, concerned citizens have raised questions about the role of hired experts with ties to partisan Democratic groups.

One South Bay voter expressed her concern this week on KSCO’s Charles Freedman Show after she received a letter from the Democracy Fund with details about her mail-in ballot.

The Democracy Fund, hired by Secretary of State Alex Padilla in May to oversee the mail-in ballot program in California until January 15, 2021, purports to be a non-partisan organization. In California, the state’s top election monitors for the general election includes Jennifer Morrell, president of the Democracy Fund since 2018, and Noah Praetz, the former director of elections in Cook County, Illinois, which has a reputation of voter fraud going back decades.

However, the Democracy Fund’s primary sponsor, billionaire Pierre Omidyar, has given millions of dollars to leftist causes and media outlets and Democratic Party candidates and groups. Omidyar was one of the biggest donors to the NeverTrump Political Action Committee (PAC) during the 2016 election.

Since 2016, Omidyar, an eBay founder who attended the University of California, Berkeley, and groups associated with the Democracy Fund have given more than $700,000 to organizations opposed to the Trump campaign and administration, according to the watchdog group InfluenceWatch.org.

Moreover, Omidyar and partners have funded the left-leaning news site PolitiFact some $500,000 over a two-year span.

The Democracy Fund and Democracy Fund Voice are non-profits and as such face certain prohibitions or regulations related to political donations. However, Omidyar has donated millions to the liberal press through less constrained philanthropic organizations.

He’s personally pledged more than $250 million to First Look Media, an umbrella group that funds progressive media platforms, including ProPublica, which is connected to major Democratic political donor George Soros, a leading critic of President Trump and the Republican Party.

But even the Democracy Fund seems to be pushing the election envelope these days, so to speak. In a June blog post, fund President Joe Goldman said the foundation is no longer bipartisan but independent and “advocates for an open and just democracy.”

“We believe a just and equitable political system must eliminate structural barriers to ensure historically excluded communities have meaningful influence in our democracy.”

What that means for California voters remains to be seen. However, election observers anticipate plenty of problems. In the March primary, more than 100,000 mail-in ballots were rejected, most of them for being mailed back too late.

In general, critics of mail-in ballots have noted that logistical limitations or intentional interference with the postal service or its workers or so-called private ballot harvesters could disrupt the election.

All registered voters will be mailed a ballot no later than 29 days prior to election day, which is Tuesday, November 3rd. Early voting and in-person voting locations will also be available. Ballots may be returned by mail, in person, or to a drop box.

KSCO’s Freedman vowed to take his ballot directly to the election office. “I’ll be damned to the darkest depths of hell before I mail in a ballot,” the Navy veteran said.

REFRESHER: Epstein's Visits to the White House and His Clinton Ties

Jeffrey Epstein Visited Clinton White House Multiple Times in Early ’90s

Days after Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest on sex-trafficking charges in New York, Bill Clinton distanced himself from the high-flying financier and convicted sex offender. The former president owned up to just six encounters with Epstein, starting in 2002: four flights on the billionaire’s private jet, a single trip to his Harlem office, and one “brief visit” to his New York apartment, all with staff and security detail in tow.

Now, a Daily Beast investigation has uncovered ties between Epstein and the Clinton administration that date back to the president’s earliest days in the White House, casting doubt on the oft-circulated narrative that the two only began associating after Clinton left office.

As early as 1993, records show, Epstein donated $10,000 to the White House Historical Association and attended a donors’ reception hosted by Bill and Hillary Clinton. Around the same time, according to a source familiar with the connection, Epstein visited presidential aide Mark Middleton several times at the White House. Two years later, businesswoman Lynn Forester de Rothschild wrote a personal letter to Clinton thanking him for their talk about the financier.

“President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York,” Clinton’s spokesperson, Angel Ureña, told The Daily Beast. “Any suggestion to the contrary is both factually inaccurate and irresponsible.”

Representatives for Epstein, de Rothschild and Middleton did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

DICTATOR Gov. Newsom 'disappointed' in Immanuel Schools for opening, Fresno County preps for court battle

Pomaville says the significant size of the coronavirus outbreak in Fresno County is cause for concern.

The county has made some progress in reducing the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations, but it needs to cut the number of new cases in a quarter to get off the state watch lost and get kids back in school and reopen closed businesses.

"We're trying to make good decisions for our community as a whole," Pomaville said. "And so there are often times where that conflict with people's right to be able to freely move about and so forth. We proceed with that very cautiously."

Pomaville says the county only got two applications for waivers allowing schools to open.

They haven't granted any yet, but they're working to accommodate Big Creek and Hume Lake Charter because of their unique geography and small student populations.

But Immanuel didn't ask and the county is now talking to state agencies about how to handle it.

Governor Newsom told us he's disappointed to see what the school is doing.

"What happens in these instances, governors will point something out, people react and everybody flexes their muscles," the governor said. "I'm not trying to flex any muscle here. All I am trying to encourage people to stay safe, stay healthy because my absolute goal is one I think the leaders of the school share and that's to keep our kids safe, to keep them educated."

Immanuel administrators didn't return our calls Friday.

Children submitted to temperature checks when they arrived on campus, but very few people wore masks.

The school held in-person graduation ceremonies last spring in violation of a county order.

It took a government Paycheck Protection Program loan of between $350,000 and $1 million. That program offers loan forgiveness and does not require the school to be open for in-person instruction.

The county is less forgiving and if they win the court injunction, the school would possibly have to pay fines of $1,000 a day dating back to Friday.

"As soon as we model good behavior and don't send mixed messages, then the sooner all of us go back to school we all achieve our respective goals," Gov. Newsom said. "So that's my hope and expectation and I say that with a deep love and deep reverence for the teachings of that school."

Tennessee mandates 24 day quarantine if a member of your household tests positive. Even if you test negative. TWENTY FOUR FUCKING DAYS! How many people can just take off work for a month ?

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVC) — The state of Tennessee is reminding residents of the recommended amount of time a person needs to spend in quarantine if someone they live with has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the state's health department, household contacts will need to quarantine for almost a month.

If you or someone in your home tests positive for COVID-19, you can expect some changes if you live in Tennessee.Tennessee health leaders are now requiring everyone in the house to quarantine for at least 24 days, including those who test negative for the virus.

Dr. David Aronoff with Vanderbilt’s Medical Center says a COVID patient is contagious for 10 days. Then the two-week quarantine should happen after that period.

The Hamilton County Health Department says they’ve updated all contact tracing to meet this new 24-day policy. But some coronavirus survivors say this new requirement could wreck families financially.

“You mandatorily have to miss a minimum 24 days. That’s a lot. I don’t know many people who can handle that economically,” said Heather Montgomery, a COVID-19 survivor.

Tennessee is in the nation's top 10 most active coronavirus states, according to Aronoff. Health experts are increasing a household’s quarantine time to slow down the spread.

Senate Chairman Hits Attempt to ‘Undermine’ Subpoena for Diplomat Linked to Anti-Trump Document

Sen. Ron Johnson on Thursday accused his Democratic counterpart of trying to “undermine” efforts to subpoena a former Department of State official linked to dossier author Christopher Steele.

Johnson, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said on Twitter that ranking Democrat Sen. Gary Peters was using “absurd process arguments to delay or derail” a subpoena for former State Department official Jonathan Winer.

dailycallerlogo

In a tweet, the Wisconsin Republican linked to a Daily Caller News Foundation report that Winer destroyed reports he received from Steele in January 2017.

.@SenGaryPeters is again trying to undermine my investigation with absurd process arguments to delay or derail our subpoena of fmr @StateDept official Jonathan Winer, who destroyed his correspondence w/Chris Steele. What is Sen. Peters afraid we’ll learn? https://t.co/bEQoD2Y1Bx

— Senator Ron Johnson (@SenRonJohnson) August 20, 2020

The Senate committee voted along party lines on June 4 to grant Johnson broad authority to issue subpoenas for investigations that Republicans are conducting into Crossfire Hurricane, “unmasking” requests against Trump associates, and Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine.

Johnson said last week that he intended to subpoena Winer to appear for a deposition about his role in handling the dossier. Johnson issued a subpoena to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Aug. 6 for records related to Crossfire Hurricane, the counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign.

Peters’ office did not respond to a request for comment about Johnson’s claims that he is stonewalling the subpoena for Winer. A source familiar with the matter told The Daily Caller News Foundation that the Democrat is demanding that the full committee hold votes for individual subpoenas.

Peters and other Senate Democrats have criticized Johnson’s investigation, saying that it is intended to provide political cover for President Donald Trump.

Winer, who served as special envoy to Libya through early 2017, was Steele’s main point of contact to the State Department. From 2014 to 2016, Steele provided Winer with more than 100 intelligence reports about issues in Russia and Ukraine.

In Summer 2016, Steele briefed Winer on an investigation into Trump he was conducting on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Winer provided a memo of Steele’s information to other State Department officials. The information was also shared with then-Secretary of State John Kerry, whom Winer had worked for in various roles over the years. Winer also served as a background source for two articles published before the election that were based on Steele’s allegations of Trump-Russia collusion.

Winer arranged for Steele to meet with State Department official Kathleen Kavelec on Oct. 11, 2016.

According to a Senate Intelligence Committee report released on Tuesday, Winer denied in his first interview with the panel that he arranged Steele’s State Department meeting. Winer changed his answer in a follow-up interview after he was presented visitor logs at the State Department that showed he signed Steele into the agency’s headquarters, the report said.

Winer also told the Senate Intelligence Committee he destroyed reports in January 2017 that he received from Steele after the former spy requested he do so.

Get redpilled on vaccines

CDC Admits In Federal Court They Have No Evidence “Vaccines Don’t Cause Autism”

This is truly a bombshell story when you understand the full implications of it, yet major media likely will not touch it. Headlines could read “In stunning lawsuit, CDC admits they have no evidence vaccines don’t cause autism” – but instead, crickets. Independent media organizations like CE are left to have to tell these stories, and at the same time risk more demonetization for telling the truth that the public should know. Of course, we also know that since independent media’s reach has been cut, getting stories like this out is very hard and relies on you, the dear reader, to spread the word.

As of March 2nd, 2020, the CDC has admitted in federal court that they do not have any evidence proving that vaccines given to babies don’t cause autism. For years they claimed that the studies had been done, the evidence was clear, and that there was a consensus: “vaccines don’t cause autism.” Yet, this was a lie.

Effectively immediately, all NH restaurants can operate at 100% capacity

CONCORD, N.H. —All New Hampshire restaurants are now able to open at 100% capacity, as long as they continue to follow state reopening guidelines including maintaining 6 feet of distance between parties, Gov. Chris Sununu announced Friday.

Previously, restaurants in six northern New Hampshire counties were able to operate at 100% capacity, but the southern counties were restricted to 50%. Over the course of the pandemic, COVID-19 has hit southern parts of the state harder than northern areas.Sununu said there have been no signs of increased coronavirus spread in areas that had been fully reopened, giving health officials confidence that the same rules can be applied across the state.

Some restaurants might still be unable to serve as many customers at once as they used to because of the need to keep customers from different parties apart. Other restrictions, such as no standing in bar areas, remain in effect.

"All those provisions are in place and will remain in place for quite some time," Sununu said.

The change comes after News 9 reported that bar and restaurant owners were concerned about cooler weather ahead making it impossible to continue outdoor seating. Restaurant owners said that without an easing of the indoor dining restrictions, their businesses wouldn't be able to survive.

Sununu said that if COVID-19 numbers begin trending worse in the state, the decision could be revisited, but a single outbreak would likely not lead to new restrictions. He said it would also be possible to reimpose restrictions on certain counties again.
