This is a terrifying case by way of precedent
The detective on the case allegedly caught this guy by comparing crime scene DNA with random samples from a 23andMe type company and not even matching to the killer, but his niece and allegedly by visual comparison from an open to the public online accessible database.
Highly suspect and I don't know how the lawyer didn't get the key evidence tossed out? The guy is a scumbag but I think that's why they used him to set this precedent, because nobody would say anything due to how big of a shitbag he is.

Because of this case, anyone can be charged with murder at any time regardless of the actual evidence.
All the detective has to do is confirm someone in your family took a DNA test and say he compared your relatives DNA to the crime scene DNA and you are now a murderer serving life in prison.
Just wanted to make sure that is clear. We are now living in a world where this is true.
