And because they say someone's not a target doesn't mean they can't become one later.

probably hundreds of individuals that can contradict Brennan at this point

I think Brennan was specifically chosen for his arrogance (Col. Nathan Jessup)

So you go public that you're questioning him so he will arrogantly cooperate

and say he's got nothing to hide.

 

But personally, I also think that if there are people in MIL tribunal land, he's one of them.

So Durham may be using him to hang some subordinates in civ court

while passing Brennan off to the firing squad jurisdiction.
