The commander in OR DID let two fires merge that were ten miles apart to make it 'easier' for 'firefighters' to 'fight' the fire (s).
The only thing that summer taught me is that firefighters are hapless against a forest fire.
Their only worth is protection of homes in residential areas not near large forested areas.
