On our family’s regular Zoom call last week, I made the mistake of mentioning QAnon. “So there’s this prophet called Q,” I began. “He claims that America is being overtaken by satanists, including the top people in the Democratic Party, who run sex trafficking rings and drink the blood of children.”

My family considered this. “Q like in the Bond films?” offered one sibling. “Or Star Trek: The Next Generation?”
