In The War of the Worlds story, and most likely others I cannot think of right now, when the Martians came to Earth, they ended up bringing their environment with them. In the story it was called the Red Weed.

We now know these "products" (fast food, junk food, synthesized meats, soda, etc) are keeping us sick and killing us all slowly, so what if those products are better suited for "them", working as a double edged sword so to speak, and again is why these products dominate store shelves and all our communities.
