Hi has anyone had a similar experience to this?
-
You think of something (internal), then you see it (external)?
Or also: you do something (alone or privately), then suddenly people are talking about something related, on the radio or in passing conversation.
-
As you observe that this is happening, it happens more and more frequently. An Internal/External correspondence. You begin questioning reality and paying more attention to external details (because you hypothesize it's somehow personally connected to you/your thoughts).
-
As you begin paying attention to details of your environment with the mindset of questioning reality, you see increasingly absurd illogical things. People behaving strangely, things looking odd or wrong. It's as if you are peering into the cracks of the simulation and watching it fall apart at the seams… Or like being in a dream and observing how the dream manifests in reaction to your thoughts and expectations, "reality" begins also behaving strangely and in reaction to your thoughts/feelings.
-
At this point your prior linear worldview is shattered. You see that all is connected. You witness that your thoughts exert gravity to influence your external environment. You may begin looking for a new model of reality. Simulation? Dream? Interdimensional multiverse being collapsed/woven into one 3D reality somehow and to reflect your beliefs? You are now seeing that there is more than meets the eye and life is a mystery.
-
So you have no stable model for reality. This is where the paths diverge. It appears you either descend into madness and fear trying to explain the mechanism behind the manifestations you've seen, seeking a coherent framework to explain it, or you remain calm and accept that you are part of a beautiful mystery. As Joseph Campbell said, “The psychotic drowns in the same waters in which the mystic swims with delight.”
Anyways these manifestations of coincidence/synchronicity bear significance to the individual but it can be quite difficult to verbalize this, to explain to others how uncanny it can feel when you do something and then simultaneously it is reflected in your reality (timing coincidence). An NPC might say, it's just a coincidence, so what? Well, yes, but when mathematically impossible coincidences happen repeatedly you must begin questioning your framework of reality — is it really mathematically impossible or am I not seeing the whole picture?
Possibly related to Q — "The complete picture would put 99% of Americans (the World) in a hospital"… Perhaps Q will guide us to a more accurate conception of reality such that we do not go insane when confronted with proof that we're literally in a "fantasy land".
