Why would you donate plasma and weaken your own immune response?

The experts tell us we can catch covid over and over and it's not going away, so why reduce your immune response by donating plasma when the odds are that you caught the covid in the first place because your immune response is weak.

If I had covid plasma to donate, I would bank it for myself and family to use when we got it again.

How stupid are these experts.
