Kathryn Taylor Weds T.F. Steyer
The marriage of Kathryn Ann Taylor, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin David Taylor of San Mateo, Calif., to Thomas Fahr Steyer, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Steyer of New York, took place yesterday in the Memorial Church at Stanford University. The Rev. Richard Thayer, a Presbyterian minister, and Rabbi Charles Familant performed the ceremony.
The bride, an alumna of the Crystal Springs School in Hillsborough, Calif., and Harvard College, graduated this spring from the four-year J.D./M.B.A. program at Stanford. She is a granddaughter of the late Paul Hoover, who was president and chairman of the Crocker National Bank. Her father is vice president of marketing for the Litton Electronic Devices Division in San Carlos, Calif. Her mother, Polly Taylor, is the district manager in northern California for the Carlisle Collection, a women's clothing line.
Mr. Steyer, an alumnus of the Buckley School and Phillips Exeter Academy, graduated summa cum laude from Yale College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received an M.B.A. degree from Stanford. He is a partner in Hellman & Friedman, investment bankers in San Francisco. His father is a partner in the New York law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell. His mother, Marnie Speyer, teaches remedial reading at the Brooklyn House of Detention.
