Anybody else think it's interesting that the missile strikes happened to land in the part of Damascus that happens to be the last rebel stronghold in that area?

Maybe that chemical factory was "leaking" chemical weapons to the rebels, and POTUS wanted to make sure that it ended. If that was the case, the origin would be Syrian (intel good), but we would have eliminated the prospect of their continued use.
Also, note that Assad had defeated 95% of the rebels down in Syria, but we learn that they were fighting from tunnels. They're easy to see know–check the East side with any mapping app. Maybe Assad was unwilling to give up the chemical weapons because he wanted to be able to gas them in the tunnels…but now that the rebels have been defeated, we've taken out an insurance policy to make sure he doesn't use them again.
Just speculating.
