The super rich are injecting blood from teenagers to gain ‘immortality’

If you’re a millennial, you might have felt for a while now that older generations are out to suck us dry.

But the bloodsucking appears to have become a whole lot more literal.

Because the super-wealthy are now pumping themselves with the blood of young people in an attempt to prevent themselves from ageing.

Over 100 people have participated in a clinical trial at a San Francisco start-up offering blood transfusions for older patients. Each procedure costs $8,000 (£6,200) and sees the patient injected with two and a half litres of plasma – the liquid element of blood that remains after other cells have been removed - taken from young people.

The procedure is being offered as an experimental attempt at rejuvenating the elderly. The median age of the patients is 60 years.

Jesse Karmazin, 32, a Stanford-trained scientist who founded the US clinic, told The Sunday Times that the initial results from his patients had been encouraging.

WHO chief warns against ‘vaccine nationalism’ as 172 countries sign up for global Covid-19 vaccine distribution plan

The majority of the world’s countries agreed to take part in the global scheme designed to distribute Covid-19 vaccines at the lowest price possible, the head of the World Health Organization has revealed.

Under the COVAX plan, 2 billion doses of the vaccine will be distributed across the globe by 2021, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said. The program aims to ensure "equitable access" to Covid-19 vaccines and make the price "as low as possible."

Ghebreyesus said that as of today, 172 countries, representing the 70 percent of the world’s population, have signed up for the program. International cooperation is the key to combatting the coronavirus, the WHO head said.

Coronavirus: Trump moves to pull US out of World Health Organization

President Donald Trump has formally moved to withdraw the US from the World Health Organization (WHO).

The president had made his intentions clear in late May, accusing the WHO of being under China's control in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite calls from the EU and others, he said he would pull out of the UN agency and redirect funds elsewhere.

He has now notified the UN and Congress of his intentions, although the process could take at least a year.

Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN secretary-general, confirmed the US had notified it of its withdrawal, effective as of 6 July 2021.

Trump May Attend Kosovo-Serbia Washington Meeting, Says Vucic

President Donald Trump may attend the White House meeting between Kosovo and Serbia, which was postponed to September 3rd or 4th, according to Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic.

Speaking to Prva TV in Serbia on Saturday, Vucic said he could not confirm Trump’s presence at the meeting but that it was highly likely if the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia will agree on something, REL/RFE reported.

Vucic said that the presence of the US President in the meeting between two small countries worries him, as Trump would only attend if it’s something very important.

On August 14th, Richard Grenell, President Trump’s envoy for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, announced a bilateral meeting at the White House to be hosted by him and National Security Advisor Robert O’Brian.

The Voice of America reported that the meeting would be postponed to September 4th.

Ukrainian Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor resigns

The head of Ukraine’s Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office says he has resigned after five years in the post.

Nazar Kholodnytskiy made the announcement in a Facebook post on August 21, saying he had quit of his own free will.

“Today I can say with confidence that the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine will fulfill their mission,” Kholodnytskiy wrote.

“I thank my team for their dedication, honesty and integrity — we do our job with dignity.”
