I own the house my uncle built in 1950 made of adobe bricks the walls are a foot thick. Requires NO air conditioning and we reach temps of 110 or more. The only draw backs are it's hard to heat and when you want to remodel you have to blow the walls out..! Maintenance is almost zero.
