I don't have the imagination for frequency hopping beyond BlueTooth (Thank you, Hedy Lamar), but it wouldn't be that challenging to do something similar and thus reduce the need to blast your way through all the interference, even micro cells would do it. Sorta like the proposed wifi from lamp post carp.

Got to get rid of the Huawei and ZTE backdoor chipsets. Start over from scratch, as most everyone had folded to adopting those designs as the backbone of 5G. So banning them wiped the slate clean for a new direction. I'm worried where else the chips were used. Avionics, naval, satcomms? who knows what they built them into.
