All that was asked of him was to submit to arrest. He chose defiance - justified or not - and the end result was law enforcement feeling threatened by his actions.

I do not believe I have a bias. The officers on scene have families they want to go home to.

A known criminal resists arrest and then seems to be to be attempting to retrieve a weapon.

The cops do not know if that's a knife, a firearm, or an explosive vest. You want them to wait and find out?

Non-compliance is the issue. Watch the Chris Rock video up thread. If you are pulled over and behave yourself you'll most likely be fine.

I understand 'staging'. The Floyd episode seems staged to me. But, a fugitive with a warrant ignoring orders by law enforcement who are trying to stop a perp from absorbing hollow points who then potentially reached for a weapon - he is lucky he survived. A single shot to the brainstem is warranted.

I do not know. I've seen a pic which purported to show a handgun, but I did not think the pic was unambiguous. Please understand the police do not know for sure in the moment either. It's a judgment call based on the actions of the individual under arrest or to be apprehended.
