I live near there, and that's in the real boonies, along a mountain side, not even a gas station or convenience store within ten miles, and not a major highway. No idea what the black marchers were doing in that neck of the woods, unless they got lost, or were searching for trouble.

You don't go from Milwaukee to DC going through there, unless the news report meant they were traveling on the Lincoln Highway (Rte 30) which is to the north of there. But there's just a handful of houses and farms along that stretch from the top of the mountain down to Schellsburg.

This explains better what went on there.

It seems about 50 blacks were actually walking along the road on their march, with some cars to carry their stuff I guess.

So at 11:30 at night, along a very lonesome stretch of road coming down the mountain, there's a couple houses along the road. It seems that the people who live there were concerned seeing 50 blacks stopping by their house. Mind you, the only blacks in that area are just a handful, and they live either in Somerset or Bedford. You can go a year without seeing black people around there.

Anyway, I guess the people living there got concerned, and fired some buckshot at the black guy walking toward them.

Undedrstandable, seeing 50 blacks congregated by your house in the middle of nowhere at 11:30 at night, what are you going to think?

Not very smart, to be in an all white area at night on foot. It's like 50 white people went walking together in a group through Harlem in the middle of the night. What did they expect?

People in that area voted about 98% for Trump in 2016.
