1. That's untrue. There have been many citizens open fire in self defense.

2. This kid pulled a stupid marching down the street, and put himself in danger. He was looking for an excuse. You're a little preoccupied with his getup to stop and consider how reckless this was.

3. Now you have a situation where "militias" are being formed as a counterinsurgency (also stupid).

This is exactly what they were trying to bait you all into, and it's getting praise here from some of you. This is not how this should be done. It should be handled legally, on your property:

1. Post up in a vantage point with clear line of sight (if possible).

2. Warn trespassers they will be shot if they invade or loot your property.

3. Defend with force when necessary.

If you have to go out, and find yourself in a position where you need to defend yourself with lethal force, and your state does NOT have a "Stand your ground" law, always inform the officer that you were "In fear for your life". Just because the police aren't there now, doesn't mean they won't be later on to clean up the mess.

Always think about the legal ramifications of your actions. Encouraging citizens to organize, march, and open fire isidiotic, and not what we engage in.
