It wasn't Messianic either. Communism requires coercion. The early church gave out of the love of their own hearts.
Definitely spread by secular Jews and Marx himself was a Jew. But it had no religious impulse or anything to do with Judaism. Marx himself said "religion is the opium of the masses". He stupidly believed people would just "rise up" against oppressors if they didn't have religion. That it keeps them docile. Communism is godless and purely secular.
