anon has ~2,000 hrs on P-3s. warhorse in bad maritime weather.
Did a limited amount of flying on C-130s. Both tough aircraft.
Couldn't say for certain which is better storm chaser platform, but I might lean towards P-3 if I had to guess. C-130 does allow roll-on / roll-off kit /station changes capability.
Both very good in their intended roles.
