Civil Rights Leader Clarence Henderson: If You Vote for Biden ‘You Don’t Know History’

Civil rights leader Clarence Henderson spoke at the Republican National Convention Wednesday, saying, “If you do vote for Biden, you don’t know history.”

Henderson made the remarks in response to Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s remark in May that if black people are unsure of whether to vote for him or President Donald Trump then “you ain’t black.” Biden only said he “shouldn’t have said that” this past Sunday in an interview with Robin Roberts. Henderson went on to describe a little bit about his background as a participant in the civil rights movement as an activist. “Walking into the Woolworth Department Store on February 2, 1960, I knew it was unlike any day I’d experienced before,” Henderson said. “My friends had been denied service the day before because of the color of their skin. We knew it wasn’t right. But when we went back the next day, I didn’t know whether I was going to come out in a vertical or prone position … in handcuffs going or on a stretcher — or even in a body bag.”

Henderson added that was what “actual peaceful protest can accomplish.” The civil rights activist and military veteran, who never had a birth certificate and was the first in his family to graduate from a historically-black college (HBCU), stressed that the Republican Party — and President Donald Trump — had done more for Americans than the Democrat Party. “It was the Republican Party that passed the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery; it was the Republican Party that passed the 14th Amendment giving black men citizenship; and it was the Republican Party that passed the 15th Amendment giving Black men the right to vote,” he said. Henderson went on to state that Trump gave a record amount of funding to HBCUs (Breitbart News reported that HBCU funding increased by 17 percent since 2017), created a record amount of jobs for the black community, and passed criminal justice reform through the First Step Act where 91 percent of the inmates released were black. “These achievements demonstrate that Donald Trump truly cares about black lives. His policies show his heart. He has done more for black Americans in four years than Joe Biden has done in 50!” Henderson said.

TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer QUITS after just four months at the company following his high-profile poaching from Disney - as the company sues over ban ordered by Trump

Last month, President Trump signed an executive order threatening to ban TikTok in the US, citing security fears

TikTok is owned by Chinese company, ByteDance, and the Commander-in-chief has given them 90 days to sell the popular video-sharing app's US operations

The order has caused chaos at TikTok's US headquarters, and has prompted the resignation of CEO Kevin Mayer

Mayer, who previously worked as Disney's head of streaming, only started at TikTok back in April

TikTok Chief Executive Officer Kevin Mayer has left the company after just four months. According to an internal memo sent out Wednesday, the 58-year-old blamed the 'changing political environment' for his abrupt departure. Mayer's resignation comes only weeks after President Trump threatened to ban the video-sharing app in the United States, claiming it may be a national security threat. TikTok - which boasts a whopping 500 million users worldwide - is owned by Chinese based ByteDance. 'In recent weeks, as the political environment has sharply changed, I have done significant reflection on what the corporate structural changes will require, and what it means for the global role I signed up for,' Mayer stated in his memo. Against this backdrop, and as we expect to reach a resolution very soon, it is with a heavy heart that I wanted to let you all know that I have decided to leave the company.' In an emailed statement, TikTok confirmed the departure and said that the political dynamics of the last few months had 'significantly changed' the scope of Mayer's role. Mayer, who holds an MBA from Harvard University, previously spent more than a decade at Disney. He most recently worked as the entertainment giant's head of streaming, helping to make Disney Plus a runaway success.

Announcing that he had been poached by TikTok back in April, Mayer told The New York Times: 'I was happy with my job at Disney, [but] the magnitude of this opportunity was just something I couldn’t pass up.” However, Mayer's job suddenly became more complicated on August 6th, when President Trump signed an executive order threatening to ban TikTok if ByteDance did not sell the app’s U.S. operations. He has given them 90 days to do so. Some security experts have theorized that the Chinese government may be able to obtain American users' data through the app, sparking fears among the Trump administarion. Earlier this week, TikTok sued the Trump administration over an executive order banning transactions in the United States with the popular short-form video-sharing app. Mayer will be temporarily replaced by the company's General Manager Vanessa Pappas.
