Tell me about it.
My former pastor (I quit the church when she started spouting leftist crap in her sermons), was 26 when she "heard the call." She previously worked at pizza joints and grocery stores clerking, living with her parents. Probably minimum wage or a bit more.
Not really intelligent, just enough to get by. Admitted in one of her sermons she had never read the Bible cover to cover.
Her first job after seminary at our church, she got a salary of $55K plus half medical, free housing at the parsonage, mileage for her trips around the area, 3 weeks vacation.
And all she has to do is write a sermon every week (actually I caught her reading a sermon that was printed in the Lutheran Magazine), visit the sick, show up on Sunday mornings (when not on vacation) and basically that's it.
