Category 4 HURRICANE devastates largest IOWA cites. Media silent. Have you heard of it?

Since I haven't seen anything on here (or anywhere really) I want to let you guys know what's happening in the heart of Iowa right now.

On August 10th the entire state was taken by storm, literally. They're calling it a Derecho. I'm calling it the Iowa hurricane or hurr-nado of 2020.

Backstory side note: In my city there is an ordinance where there has to be a tree planted for each house in town… so we have A LOT of trees. It is/was amazing.

It was a super hot/humid day, normal for early August. We had heard of a storm coming, but didn't think anything of it because that's also completely normal and usually means it's time to go outside and watch it (because that's what we do here)… but this one was weird. The tornado sirens went off when it was still sunny in my backyard, there was a noticeable temp change, 15 minutes later the entire city (second largest city in Iowa) lost power and all of the trees started to bend/break.

The wind speeds were clocked at 140 mph and lasted almost an hour. The aftermath is heartbreaking. Almost every tree is down.. and not just down, but mangled. Every power line was down, wires were tangled in downed trees (still are). People have had to live in tents outside of apartment buildings and it took almost 2 weeks to restore power. My family personally went 10 days in the dark. The ENTIRE CITY has damage, everything was affected and many hundreds were injured.

I've lived here my entire life (30+ years) and I've never seen anything like this before.

There was no warning. 140 mph hour winds with. no. warning. It was the middle of the day, people were out everywhere. Tornatic activity is normal here, hurricane activity is not. We were not prepared.

Important to note that Iowa is the largest producer of corn and soybeans. They're saying 10 million acres of crops have been destroyed by this storm. You can see the damage from space. (Iowa Storm Damage)

The thing that is really confusing for me there was no national media coverage about this.

A CATEGORY 4 HURRICANE came through Iowa, and nobody knows about it? Especially with the whole climate change narrative, you'd think people would be all up in arms about this. What gives?

My critical thinking conspiracy brain has many theories, and most of them make me sound like a crazy person lol but you guys understand.

I wanted to get some awareness out there and see what you guys think of this whole thing. A lot of people here are struggling and it will take months to clean up all of the damage, so send us Iowa folk some good vibes!
