Search Engine vs Browser

There is a lot of confusion around the two most frequently used buzz words: search engine and browser. Recently, Google conducted an interview on the streets of New York asking people to define a browser. Out of a sample of over 50, only 8 per cent of the people answered with the correct definition of a browser.

A browser is a software program installed on your computer locally. There are many browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Opera, etc. A browser is used to access various websites and web pages. A search engine is also a software program that searches for some particular document when specific keywords are entered. The search engine matches the exact keywords entered against the documents available on the Internet and returns a list of documents in which the keywords were found. Google and Yahoo are the most popular search engines.

Another interesting thing to be noticed is that you use a browser to get a search engine. For example, you open Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox and then type the web address of a search engine such as Google.com, Yahoo.com.

When you open a search engine and enter a few keywords, a program called an indexer reads the documents on the web and creates an index based on the words contained in each document and returns it if the words match the entered keywords. The search engine uses a proprietary algorithm to create its indices in order to return only meaningful results for each query entered by the user.

Egyptian Security Forces Arrest Muslim Brotherhood Leader in Cairo, Interior Ministry Says

CAIRO (Sputnik) – Egypt’s National Security Agency has detained an interim leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mahmoud Ezzat, in Cairo’s neighbourhood, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.

Ezzat, who has been wanted for over five years, was found in an apartment located in the New Cairo area, according to security officials. Ezzat became the group’s temporary leader in 2013 after General Guide Mohammad Badie was detained following the overthrow of then-President Mohammed Morsi in the same year.

Some news outlets have previously reported that Ezzat might be on the territory of Turkey or the Gaza Strip. Dozens of criminal proceedings have been instituted against the group’s top member, and, according to a number of them, he has been sentenced to death.

Japan’s stocks slide on news of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s resignation

Japan’s Nikkei led the losses among Asia’s major stock markets on Friday after the country’s longest serving prime minister, Shinzo Abe, resigned over health issues.

The Nikkei dropped 1.4 percent, while Tokyo Stock Price Index (Topix) ended the day almost 0.7 percent down.

Other Asian markets, except for Taiwan and Australia, were trading up, with shares in both mainland China and Hong Kong gaining around 1.5 percent. South Korea’s Kospi was up 0.4 percent, and India's Mumbai Sensex added around one percent.

European markets opened moderately lower on Friday.

Shutdown Democrats could create a ‘double-dip recession’ costing U.S. economy $700 billion if they succeed in keeping schools closed

One thing is certain: If ‘the science’ fits the agenda of shutdown Democrats during the COVID-19 pandemic, they will defer to it.

‘The science’ says that kids should be in school, not reliant on ‘remote learning.’ In-person classes are far superior and they are much more conducive to learning.

Regardless of how much our country and our people lose.

That said, according to a new analysis, if most schools remain shuttered for an extended period this fall, ostensibly to ‘protect kids and teachers’ from coronavirus, we’re going to see another recession and our economy will lose hundreds of billions of dollars.

Taiwan paved the way for an eventual free trade deal with the United States on Friday by announcing an easing of restrictions on the import of beef and pork as the island looks to boost ties with Washington at a time of tensions with China.

Taiwan has long sought a free-trade agreement with the US, its most important supporter on the international stage, but Washington has complained about barriers to access for pork and beef. Taiwan said that was for health grounds, especially with concerns over mad cow disease and additives.

Speaking at the presidential office in Taipei, President Tsai Ing-wen said her government planned to allow the import of US pork containing ractopamine, an additive that enhances leanness, and allow in beef older than 30 months old.

Taiwan-US trade last year was worth US$85.5 billion, with the US running a US$23.1 billion deficit. Taiwan was the US’ 14th biggest export market in 2019.

Governor Whitmer Sends Michigan National Guard to Wisconsin

According to FOX 2 Detroit on Twitter, Governor Gretchen Whitmer dispatched two companies of the Michigan National Guard to Wisconsin at the request of Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, and by her power, they will not be federalized. The request after Kyle Rittenhouse killed two and wounded a third in an act of self-defense in Kenosha.

Whitmer goes on to call Rittenhouse as a “police admirer” indirectly suggesting that he, and the militia that he belongs to who were defending local small businesses, were the true reason for the protests that have destroyed the city of Kenosha.
