A second Baltimore officer was arrested in the kidnapping and extortion of a home contractor whose work on a patio renovation project failed to satisfy a police department colleague.

Juan A. Diaz, 46, was charged with abusing his position. He is accused of helping homicide detective James Lloyd confront the contractor and get back money paid for the project.

Prosecutors said Lloyd confronted the contractor on June 25 and demanded a refund, threatening to arrest him over a suspended driver's license.

“You are going to give me my money back, and I’m going to give you freedom,” Lloyd told the contractor, according to charging documents.

Police said he drove the victim to the bank and ordered him to withdraw money for a refund.

Lloyd was arrested last month and charged with extorting, kidnapping and abusing the power of his office.

Prosecutors said Diaz obtained $3,500 from the contractor, whose name was redacted in court documents, "by threat of force," Baltimore County Court records show.

KEK

That's what happens when you do shitty work.

Feds Step in to Prosecute Criminal Rioters in Portland as Local DA Stands Down

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/08/28/feds-step-in-to-prosecute-criminal-rioters-in-portland-as-local-da-stands-down/

U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams said:

"Violent agitators have hijacked any semblance of First Amendment protected activity, engaging in violent criminal acts and destruction of public safety. The U.S. Attorney’s Office and our federal law enforcement partners are expeditiously working with local and state law enforcement to identify, arrest, and prosecute these individuals that are disrupting the rule of law in our communities and physically attacking our law enforcement officers and destroying property."

ATF Special Agent in Charge Jonathan McPherson, said:

"As the nation’s primary source for fire investigative knowledge, [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives] ATF remains committed to investigating those responsible for committing arsons in our communities and holding them responsible for their illegal actions. As a reminder, there is a mandatory minimum sentence of five years for arson. ATF takes these violent actions seriously and will work diligently to bring justice to the victims."

Renn Cannon, special agent in charge of the FBI in Orego, said:

"While the FBI supports and safeguards Constitutionally-protected activity and civil rights, there is no permit for assault, arson or property damage and these are not victimless crimes. Among the victims of violent crime are business owners, residents and individuals exercising their First Amendment rights through protests or other legitimate forms of expression."

Meanwhile, the New York Times lauded the new Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt, who has refused to prosecute rioters in Portland.

New York Times Sympathizes With Adults Who Pursue Sex With 13-Year-Old Girls

https://thefederalist.com/2020/08/28/new-york-times-sympathizes-with-adults-who-pursue-sex-with-13-year-old-girls/

The article is a surreal read. Rather than focusing on how sex crimes devastate victims’ lives, or the efforts of organizations to halt sexual violence against children worldwide and domestically, or even focusing on the grueling work of the law enforcement agents involved in these vile crimes, the Times waxes sympathetically about the lives of three men who were arrested for soliciting sex with minors online and how it has affected their families.

From the New York Slime, this is no surprise.

Under HRC, this would be the norm.

THESE PEOPLE ARE SICK!

Thank God for Trump.

CHICAGO - Four former employees of a failed Bridgeport bank have been charged in a $29 million embezzlement scheme, federal prosecutors announced Friday.

The charges revolve around Washington Federal Bank for Savings, on Archer Avenue, which was shut down in 2017 amid an investigation into fraud.

Among those charged were two of Washington Federal Bank for Savings’ top executives: Rosallie C. Corvitte, 45, of Chicago, who was the bank’s chief financial officer and treasurer, and Jane V. Iriondo, 39, of Boise, Idaho, who was corporate secretary.

Also charged: Alicia Mandujano, 49, of Chicago, who was a loan servicer, and Cathy M. Torres, 39, of Chicago, a former loan officer.

All four are accused of conspiring to embezzle the $29 million with Robert Kowalski, a lawyer and developer who was a major customer of the bank and already had been indicted with his sister Jan R. Kowalski, also a Chicago attorney, on charges they concealed assets related to Robert Kowalski’s bankruptcy case.
