Cloward-Piven Strategy To Destroy America Resurgent Amid BLM/Antifa-Led Riots

Richard Andrew Cloward and Francis Fox Piven are two names that are largely unfamiliar to the average American, but, as Jason Brown notes, their historical relevance is being seen all over the country today as we watch civil unrest in the form of riots ensue.

As Brandon Smith detailed previously, in the mid-sixties at the height of the “social revolution” the line between democratic benevolence and outright communism became rather blurry. The Democratic Party, which controlled the presidency and both houses of Congress, was used as the springboard by social engineers to introduce a new era of welfare initiatives enacted in the name of “defending the poor”, also known as the “Great Society Programs”. These initiatives, however, were driven by far more subversive and extreme motivations, and have been expanded on by every presidency since, Republican and Democrat alike.

At Columbia University, sociologist professors Richard Cloward and Francis Fox Piven introduced a political strategy in 1966 in an article entitled 'The Weight Of The Poor: A Strategy To End Poverty'.

This article outlined a plan that they believed would eventually lead to the total transmutation of America into a full-fledged centralized welfare state (in other words, a collectivist enclave). The spearpoint of the Cloward-Piven strategy involved nothing less than economic sabotage against the U.S.

Theoretically, according to the doctrine, a condition of overwhelming tension and strain could be engineered through the overloading of American welfare rolls, thereby smothering the entitlement program structure at the state and local level. The implosion of welfare benefits would facilitate a massive spike in poverty and desperation, creating a financial crisis that would lead to an even greater cycle of demand for a fully socialized system. This desperation would then “force” the federal government to concentrate all welfare programs under one roof, nationalize and enforce a socialist ideology, and ultimately, compact an immense level of power into the hands of a select few.

Cloward and Piven claimed that this could be accomplished at a grassroots level through community activism, and, that it would facilitate a more compassionate federal authority, however, there are numerous problems with these assertions.

The Cloward-Piven Strategy has nothing to do with grassroots activism, and accomplishes nothing tangible for the downtrodden poverty class. In fact, I would dare to say that Cloward and Piven as well as most social engineers are well aware that the concept ultimately only serves to give even more dominance to the establishment and pilfer even more freedom from the masses.

Walmart And Microsoft: The Not-So-Shocking Odd Couple That Wants To Buy TikTok

After weeks of speculation, reports surfaced Thursday that a U.S. buyer for ByteDance's TikTok app could be announced within a matter of days. At the same time, an unforeseen name entered the conversation: Walmart.

There would be another curious wrinkle to the possible sale: the retail giant would be partnering with Microsoft, the leading suitor for the blockbuster video-sharing app.

The partnership between the two corporate behemoths — one a big-box shopping chain, the other a pioneering tech giant — makes for an odd pairing. Though it may seem premature to discern what Microsoft gets out of such a deal, there have been whispers that Walmart may need Microsoft because U.S. regulators require a cloud-computing infrastructure in order to bid on TikTok.

Whatever has compelled the two companies to partner, the drive for both to pursue an acquisition is far from surprising when one considers a simple fact: TikTok offers something both companies want.

Microsoft has major, longstanding footholds in markets like computer hardware, software, and video games, but the company lags in the realm of online video, where the likes of YouTube and Netflix reign supreme.

TikTok has over one billion users worldwide, so gaining access to even a fraction of its operations would give Microsoft an immediate presence in that competitive and lucrative field.

As for Walmart, a tech acquisition for a physical retailer seems like a questionable investment, especially from a company that recently offloaded the Vudu digital video platform for not fitting its business model.

However, the pursuit makes more sense, as some have highlighted, when considering the e-commerce impact of Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. In China, users are able to buy products directly after viewing advertisements for them and can also view live streams from high-profile creators talking about certain products.

With this business model in mind, TikTok could give Walmart a massive new advertising platform and a way to drive traffic to its online storefronts. These benefits would be particularly useful for the company as it makes moves to compete with the online dominance of Amazon.

Covid 19 coronavirus: Auckland's new, 'new normal' – What level 2.5 means for you

  • NZ has 137 active cases, with 10 people in hospital; worldwide there have now been more than 25 million cases and 844,000 deaths

  • The new rules - everything you need to know for level 2.5 including masks and roadblocks

  • Comment: Kiwis have every right to be angry over testing communications

  • How house-building is faring in the Covid pandemic

  • The new rules which make Air NZ's recovery all that harder

Auckland is this morning adjusting to a "new new normal" - level 2.5 living - as Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern apologises for a wrong message which urged all 750,000 south and west Aucklanders to get a Covid test.

She told Newstalk ZB's Mike Hosking today she was "angry, frustrated… a range of emotions" after a social media post - on Facebook and Instagram - from the official all-of-Government Covid-response page said residents needed to get a test, even if they did not have symptoms.

"It was a mistake, I fully acknowledge that," Ardern told Hosking.

She said the message - which she had learned about at 10am yesterday morning - had led to people lining up at testing stations yesterday, unnecessarily.

"The issue here is that in simplifying some of the messages they have shared incorrect messages. No excuse for that. It caused anxiety for people and for that I apologise. No wants to see people afraid. No one wanted to see people unnecessarily lining up."

She said she would be taking time to find out what happened. "It feels to me a little bit at the moment that I don't think we can place blame on any one person's shoulders. It's a series of errors have been made here."

She said she had raised it immediately with those who had the ability to remove it from the social media platforms - even though the message was still up on Instagram as she spoke at the 1pm press conference yesterday.

"If we wanted over 700,000 people to get a test we wouldn't just leave it to an Instagram or Twitter post. That would be something we would be sharing openly from the podium."

The apology comes as Auckland is this morning out lockdown and into another "new normal" - with roadblocks lifted and masks donned for public transport commuters and many workers.

Moderna Neglected To Disclose Pentagon’s Financial Support In Applications For More Than 100 Patents

Before the mainstream media transfigures Moderna founder and CEO Stephane Bancel into a corporate savior on par with Bill Gates, we’d like to remind investors (and the public) that Moderna and its insiders have demonstrated an eyebrow-raising affinity for pumping the stock with over-hyped press releases then cashing in shares or warrants (all insider stock sales were pre-scheduled divestitures, the insiders’ lawyers have argued).

Despite receiving nearly $1 billion in taxpayer money via “Operation Warp Speed”, the drugmaker is planning to charge as much as $37 for a single dose, or up to $60 for two courses, of its experimental mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. That’s far and away the highest price point disclosed yet.

WA Police arrest 18 alleged members of Perth ‘paedophile ring’

Police have busted an alleged paedophile ring operating across Perth which is accused of targeting more than 100 young girls on social media.

The alleged predator ring is accused of attempting to groom up to 140 teenage girls, some as young as 13, through social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

It was uncovered through months of covert surveillance from detectives attached to a task force dubbed Operation Timing Belt, which began in April.

Police have charged the 18 men – aged 18 to 41 – with 214 offences and will allege 23 of their victims were subjected to sexual abuse.

Four of the men arrested had previous convictions for child sex offences.

The charges include 79 sexual offences, and a series of drug, trespass and animal cruelty allegations.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Daly said the men allegedly contacted the girls with the goal to “ultimately engage in sexual contact with them”.

“The majority of offences are non-physical communication via popular social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and via mobile phones,” he said.

Assistant Commissioner Brad Royce said the arrests should act as a warning for parents and for offenders.

“These are adult men, for the most part, that aren’t much older (than the girls),” he said.

“But they’re old enough to know better.”

US On-Again Off-Again Partial Troop Withdrawal From Iraq: On Again?

There are plans for an official US troop reduction in Iraq. A partial reduction may or may not eventuate. Given that thousands of troops can be returned by the US within a matter of hours at any time, a more important question than how many troops (and uncounted contractors) officially remain, is where are they deployed, what hardware do they have, what are their objectives, what are they doing on the ground (and in the air), and, most importantly, when are they going to leave (as demanded by the unanimous resolution of the Iraqi parliament earlier this year)?

The first official figures from the Trump Administration on the Iraq drawdown were disclosed on Friday, with officials now saying that the 5,200 US troops there currently will be cut to about 3,500 in the next two to three months.

That’s about a third of the US troops in Iraq, though there are almost certainly more than 5,200 US troops in Iraq now. The US has not kept public figures on troop levels for months, and 5,200 is the maximum allowed by the US-Iraq agreement. When more troops were sent, the official figure always remained 5,200.

For example, the New York Times reported in January of this year:

“As of December, there were about 6,000 United States troops deployed in Iraq, which is a fraction of the peak number of 150,000 military personnel who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom, which lasted from 2003 to 2011. After General Suleimani’s death, the Iraqi Parliament voted to expel American troops from the country, which Mr. Trump then said would be met with sanctions.”
