If someone with cancer has 3 months to live when an air conditioner falls on their head do we say that it's not a pure "misadventure my major appliance" death and therefore doesn't count?
I agree that the numbers a bit inflated. And the numbers for deaths with and without pre-existing conditions should both be reported together. But I don't agree with the recent trend of saying they are not COVID deaths. If a person would still be alive (abet slowly dying) if not for the COVID infection then COVID can rightly be listed as the cause of death.
