RIP: Trump Supporter Jay Bishop Identified as Victim in Last Night’s Portland Shooting — GoFundMe Set up by Family

Trump supporter Jay Bishop was identified today as the victim in last night’s shooting in Portland, Oregon.

Jay Bishop was gunned down in cold blood by far left rioter Michael Reinoehl.

Cassandra Fairbanks reported this earlier on the shooter–

For several hours, rumors were circulating online that a rioter had been killed by a supporter of President Donald Trump, but there was a big celebration when they found out it was actually the other way around.

“Everybody, I just got word. The person who died was a Patriot Prayer person,” the Black Lives Matter leader tells the excited crowd. “He was a f***ing Nazi. Our community held its own and took out the trash. I’m not going to shed any tears over a Nazi dying!”

The left is calling Jay Bishop a Nazi in his death.

It’s how these animals justify the violence and murder.

New footage from Portland shooting suggests victim was targeted: 'We got a couple right here!'

'Hey! Hey! We got a couple right here'

New video from Saturday's shooting in Portland, which resulted in one death, emerged Sunday, providing a more detailed account of what transpired overnight.

Around midnight EST, gunfire rang out in Portland's downtown area. Graphic videos and images quickly flooded social media to reveal that one person had been murdered.

As TheBlaze reported, pro-Trump demonstrators had clashed with Antifa rioters earlier in the day. The murdered individual was reportedly associated with "Patriot Prayer," a Portland-based far-right activist group.

"This violence is completely unacceptable and we are working diligently to find and apprehend the individual or individuals responsible," Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell said.

What does video show?

One video in particular, taken within feet of the murder, does not show the shooting itself. But the video is significant because it provides greater context into why the shooting happened.

Audio heard on the video reveals a man screaming, "Hey! Hey! We got a couple right here. We got a couple right here!"

A second man then says, "Right here?" Another man can be heard saying, "He's pulling it out," although it is not clear what the man was referring to.

Then two shots rang out.

The person behind the camera, who was not involved with the crime, then turns a corner and the shooting victim is seen lying motionless on the street. People then surround the victim, attempting to render aid. A squadron of police in riot gear then appear.

NYPD Arrests Suspect Filmed Attempting to Rape Woman on Subway Platform

Earlier in the day, the New York Police Department (NYPD) tweeted that it was seeking help from the public in identifying a man recorded on video sexually assaulting a woman on a subway platform. The suspect was wanted for attempted rape.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) took into custody a man who attempted to rape a woman in the subway and was video-recorded while doing so, NYPD Transit Police Chief Edward Delatorre tweeted on Sunday. An investigation is ongoing, as the police move to prosecution.

Earlier, a call for public help in finding the suspect was announced by the NYPD, with Delatorre decrying the incident as "brazen and brutal sexual assault". After announcing the arrest, the police chief again encouraged potential witnesses of the attack to step forward and report any information to the police.

The attempted rape was recorded at the 63rd St/Lexington Ave station, with video revealing a man lying atop a struggling woman, then standing up and walking away after picking up a pair of sunglasses.

"This is disturbing and disgraceful. No one should ever have to experience this type of horrific attack in the transit system," said Abbey Collins, spokeswoman for the MTA, cited by NBC 4 New York. "The MTA is working closely with the NYPD to find the suspect and hold him accountable to the fullest extent of the law."

According to the report, the suspect was previously arrested earlier this year and matched a mugshot.

Nihilism Embodied: Our Lawless Financial System

Not only have the billionaire class made money, they have tightened their monopolistic grip on the levers of money supply and distribution, turning a global rigged casino into a global company town.

Editor's note: This is a guest post by my friend and colleague Zeus Yiamouyiannis, Ph.D., who has contributed essays to Of Two Minds since 2009.

I wrote this predictive observation in the January 28, 2011 Of Two Minds post entitled, Abused Fundamentals and Fake Markets: How They Play Out (later published and updated in 2013 in my book: Transforming Economy: From Corrupted Capitalism to Connected Communities):

So we have a lawless system. What does this mean for citizens and investors? In the near term it means that the fundamentals will not apply. Anything that maintains or augments elite wealth and increases elite options will be supported, and anything that consumes or converts common people's wealth and labor and restricts their choices will be pursued.

Anything that reinforces accountability, rational response, or cause and effect will be actively suppressed. Forget reversion to the mean. One only has to observe where the respective value/wealth of each party resides and where it gets channeled to know what the market will do and where policy will go. When the stock market should crash, it won't… until some time frame far longer than even the most generous fundamentals would dictate…

Analyses that try to predict near term market moves based on Laffer curves, Elliot Waves, and historical cycles will almost definitely fail. We don't have a 'new era', but we definitely have unprecedented coordinated global intervention dedicated almost solely to the fortunes of the top 1%. That is the new rule that will govern until there is a serious breakdown.

The chickens are now coming home to roost, and proving to a greater and greater degree that markets are no longer markets at all, or even casinos. They are clearinghouses for transfers of wealth from the many to the few. Period. No credible argument can be made otherwise. Therefore, we must first and foremost understand the rigged system to inform active resistance and effective alternatives. In so doing, we must also transform ignorance into awareness, obedience into civil disobedience, and fearful attachment into creative interdependence.

In brief, here is how I believe this latest round of audaciously escalating fraud will play out. Given that "too big to fail, too big to jail" is now established worldwide policy, the logical next move for the billionaire class will be buy up everything of hard value with unlimited free unbacked money and massive debt. Think private equity firms, but on a colossal scale: Extract and savage this wealth from every known stored value, and leave the mess for someone to clean up. This is a project now supported by every major central bank and it involves monopoly ownership of every avenue of value assignment and measurement by a handful of people and companies.

What proof do I have that there no longer exists a "market" at all in terms of fundamentals?

Exhibit A: Why are the dollar, stocks, gold, oil, and even Bitcoin all moving in the same direction, when, according to fundamentals, they should move in opposite directions?

Most financial news media give technical definitions. Jeff deGraaf in Marketwatch explains "As real yields turn negative, opportunity costs for holding non-yielding assets essentially vanish, particularly when viewed through the historical lens of fiat currencies and their purchasing power."

Gold, and I would add the U.S. dollar, create a convenient floor at the zero to positive level, to potential black swans that might sweep the more "risky" fake markets (and cause them to fall before they are rescued again upward).

New Yorkers Who Lost Loved Ones Due to Killer Cuomo’s Insane COVID-19 Policies Finally Given a Chance to Share Their Pain

New Yorkers finally were given a chance to share their experiences related to the mandates in the state to send COVID infected individuals back into nursing homes in the state.

New York had the highest rate of deaths of any state in the US and this is due to the inhumane and murderous policies of Governor Cuomo and his Department of Health.

On Monday, August 17, additional hearings were held in New York State over the shocking number of senior citizen deaths in NY’s nursing homes, due to the March 25 Covid-19 edict of Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo which barred nursing homes from REFUSING to accept recovering Covid-19 positive hospital patients.

Eleven Families Who Lost Loved Ones Shared Their Stories

These stories of eleven families – and one very factual county public health director – are representative of the thousands of New York families across this state’s sixty-two counties which have lost loved ones in New York’s nursing homes, due to Cuomo’s March 25 order and the abysmal conditions in many of these nursing homes. An August 11 AP story disputes the NYSDOH’s official number, estimating the number of NY nursing home deaths at likely more than 11,000. NY’s number is artificially low because it, unlike every other state in the nation, does not include the number of nursing home residents who subsequently died in a hospital.

These grieving New York families reveal the grim facts regarding their loved ones’ unnecessary, lonely and, in some cases, cruel Covid-19 deaths. Some nursing home residents were literally trapped inside Cuomo’s facilities, unable to communicate with their families. Families weren’t told their loved one had Covid symptoms. They were lied to. Many of these elderly residents died all alone. Most did not have proper funerals and burials.

Half-Dozen Democrat Mayors In Minnesota Endorse Trump, Say Biden 'Did Nothing' For Working Class

The Democratic mayors of six small towns in Minnesota have rejected Joe Biden as having 'moved too far to the left,' and are instead supporting President Trump, according to Breitbart.

"Like many in our region, we have voted for Democrats over many decades," reads a Friday letter from Mayors Larry Cuffe of Virginia (city), John Champa of Chisholm, Chuck Novak of Ely, Chris Swanson of Two Harbors, Robert Vlaisavljevich of Eveleth and Andrea Zupancich of Babbit.

Under Democrats, they continue, "We have watched as our constituents' jobs left not only the Iron Rage, but our country. By putting tariffs on our products and supporting bad trade deals, politicians like Joe Biden did nothing to help the working class. We lost thousands of jobs, and generations of young people have left the Iron Range in order to provide for their families with good paying jobs elsewhere."

Today, we don't recognize the Democratic Party. It has been moved so far to the left it can no longer claim to be advocates of the working class. The hard-working Minnesotans that built their lives and supported their families here on the Range have been abandoned by radical Democrats. We didn’t choose to leave the Democratic Party, the party left us.

Yet, four years ago, something wonderful happened. Donald J. Trump was elected President of the United States, and he stood up to China, implemented tax cuts and fought for the working class. Now, four years later, the Iron Range is roaring back to life and for the first time in a very long time, locals are hopeful because of this President's policies and willingness to fight for us. Lifelong politicians like Joe Biden are out of touch with the working class, out of touch with what the country needs, and out of touch with those of us here on the Iron Range and in small towns like ours across our nation.

The letter ends with a formal endorsement of President Trump for "four more years."

The Rise of Authoritarianism: From Parasite Stress Theory to Lock Step

Empirical evidence indicates that the spread of pathogens leads populations to become more conformist and accepting of authoritarian behavior from governments – what does this mean for the world of COVID19?

As discussed in Multiple Studies Predicted Governments Become Authoritarian in Response to Pandemics, we have an abundance of scientific data highlighting how humans react to perceived threats and how that relates to the type of government the people will accept. I examined the study Pathogens and Politics: Further Evidence That Parasite Prevalence Predicts Authoritarianism, as well as other studies focused on the “parasite stress theory.”

The theory proposes that when a species faces parasites and diseases their values are shaped by the experience. In this context, “parasite” is used to refer to any pathogenic organism, including bacteria and viruses. The theory states that depending on how a disease stresses people’s development it can lead to differences in mating preferences and changes in culture. Proponents of the parasite stress theory also note that disease can alter the psychological and social norms of societies.

“According to a “parasite stress” hypothesis, authoritarian governments are more likely to emerge in regions characterized by a high prevalence of disease-causing pathogens,” the researchers wrote. They define authoritarian governance as “highly concentrated power structures that repress dissent and emphasize submission to authority, social conformity, and hostility towards outgroups.”

Due to the invisible nature of “disease-causing parasites,” attempts to control the spread of a disease “historically depended substantially on adherence to ritualized behavioral practices that reduced infection risk.” The researchers also found that society tends to promote a collectivist worldview, favoring obedience and conformity from the population, in response to parasites.

Unfortunately, according to the parasite stress theory, humanity is prone to accepting violent behavior from governments during pandemics. As noted in Politics and Pathogens, the threat of exposure to a pathogen need not even be realistic for it to create a desire for conformity and obedience to authority.

The book The Parasite Stress Theory of Values and Sociality: Infectious Disease, History and Human Values Worldwide further outlines how populations respond to the uncertainty felt during pathogen spread. The authors discuss how reducing social prejudice and authoritarianism can be accomplished by emancipating people from infectious diseases. However, the authors also note that a government which desired more authoritarian powers – including “full-blown fascism or genocide” – could achieve this goal by “promoting widespread mortality and morbidity from infectious diseases.”

The authors reach similar conclusions as the researchers in the Politics and Pathogens study which showed that populations facing pandemics become more supportive of collectivist mindsets over individualistic ones. “These patterns arise, in part, from the reverence collectivists place on people in authority (authoritarianism), which gives those in authority greater freedom to violate the interests of the populace and impunity when such violations occur,” the authors note.

Clearly, the conclusions of this research have profound implications for our world and the current COVID-19 crisis. As previously noted, we are seeing a massive increase in authoritarian actions from governments around the world. Thermal imaging scanners, documents for travel, fines and arrests of those who fail to wear masks or stay home, and shutting down protests against these actions – have all become regular events in the so-called “New Normal.”

The Gates Foundation Connection

While researching the Politics and Pathogen study I discovered that the editor, Aric Gregson, has some tangential connections to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation through his work on a Malaria vaccine.

Dr. Aric Gregson, MD is an infectious disease specialist in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Gregson currently practices at Ag Infectious Diseases: A Medical Corporation in California. According to his LinkedIn page, from July 2003 to September 2005, Gregson participated in the “Vaccinology Fellowship” at the University of Maryland’s Center for Vaccine Development.

South Korea Seizes Personal Info from Thousands of Americans in Coronavirus Probe

Korean coronavirus investigation leaks could threaten religious liberty in US

The South Korean government has seized the personal information of thousands of U.S. citizens as part of its investigation into a controversial Christian group in the country, alarming religious freedom advocates.

The Shincheonji Church of Jesus, a religious group that counts more than 300,000 followers worldwide, has come under intense scrutiny after South Korean authorities traced the country's first large-scale coronavirus outbreak to its services in February. Authorities, who are pursuing murder charges against the group's leader, collected the personal information of U.S.-based Shincheonji practitioners, including passport numbers and addresses, after seizing a list of all its followers. The data seizure has alarmed American practitioners of the faith, particularly after public leaks of that data led to death threats against believers.

"There is a genuine sense of fear that there will be a lot of repercussions, you know, socially, and also professionally," Michelle Lee, an American Shincheonji practitioner, told the Washington Free Beacon. "In South Korea, the list of congregation and congregant's information has been leaked and people have been receiving death threats, messages, calls, verbal assaults in person."

The South Korean government did not return request for comment.

The Shincheonji controversy has alarmed U.S. officials and religious freedom experts, some of whom have expressed concerns that Seoul is using the pandemic as an opportunity to crack down on a religious group that is widely disparaged as a cult. The issue also serves as a case study of what happens when well-intentioned pandemic policy ends up infringing on religious freedom.

The same dispute is playing out in the United States, though religious leaders have avoided the intense scrutiny South Korea has directed at Shincheonji. Some U.S. politicians have cracked down on religious rituals more harshly than other types of gatherings. New York City mayor Bill de Blasio, for example, singled out an in-person Jewish funeral procession on Twitter as "absolutely unacceptable," but endorsed jam-packed Black Lives Matter protests. Churches in Wisconsin and California have filed lawsuits challenging restrictions on worship that have not been applied to protests or commercial activities.

Public antagonism is nothing new for the Korean sect, which was founded in 1984. Shincheonji has attracted heated criticism from more mainline churches, which accuse the group of isolating believers from family members and society. Critics often point to the group’s mandatory Bible boot camps for new recruits, as well as the church’s controversial teaching that ascribes a messianic role to its founder, Lee Man-hee.
