King County Sheriff's Office Defunding. The movement to defund the Seattle Police Department has now bled over to the King County Sheriff's Office. The Council has proposed a change to the Charter which will take away the right of voters to elect the Sheriff. You will see this on the November ballot.

If enacted, the Charter change will allow the Seattle-centric Council to decide who the Sheriff is, not the voters.

Knowing the voters won't likely give up their voting rights, the Council snuck in another proposed Charter change which will allow them to direct the Sheriff. As it now stands, the Sheriff is accountable to the voters and is directed by state law.

Don't be fooled neighbors! This move is designed to defund the Sheriff's Office. The Council is trying to take control of law enforcment. This IS a power grab!

The King County Charter guides government. Politicians are trying to change the rule book. There is a Charter section that says the Sheriff's Office cannot be abolished. They discussed removing that section! Can you imagine that? No law enforcement if you live in Unincorporated King County! They actually talked about abolishing the Sheriff's Office! That is their goal folks, defund the Sheriff's Office.

Only three Council members voted against these ridiculous changes (Reagan Dunn, Pete Von Reichtbauer and Kathy Lambert) The other six Council members out-voted them. It should come as no surprise that the other six live in urban areas. They don't care about the Sheriff's Office.

Be sure to vote NO on any Charter Changes in November or risk a Chop zone and lawlessness coming to your neighborhood.

Help spread the word! And donate so we can fight this madness! Support law enforcement. They need you now more than ever!
