I've been watching Pete coach very closely over the past 20 years and one tenet of his coaching philosophy is to turn a blind eye to off field concerns and enable and reinforce bad attitudes towards society and law enforcement. His players have turned out to be criminals as a result. LOB Brandon Browner is serving out a prison sentence in LA for attempted murder. Earl Thomas was reportedly caught up in orgies and this lead to an altercation at gun point with his wife over this off-season. Earl was the star of the LOB. Earl also got in a fight in practice and was kicked out of the NFL this year. When he got injured during his last snap in Seattle he flipped off Pete and screamed at him from the field, apparently regarding a contract dispute. The two haven't spoken since. Richard Sherman had regular tirades on the sidelines where he'd scream and yell at offensive coaches over play calls he didn't agree with. He almost got into a fight with Oline coach Tom Cable during a game.
And that is just where this starts. Quinton Dunbar the new CB was arrested this summer for assault with a deadly weapon and premier edge rusher Frank Clark beat his girlfriend at Mich in a domestic violence encounter. Jurran Reed was arrested for drunk driving and assault. Malik McDowell called African American police officers racial slurs during one arrest and during a second arrest for drunk driving assaulted the police officer. Michael Bennett had an altercation during the Super Bowl as a fan where he shoved a disabled person to the ground in order to get out onto the field that he was arrested for. He had other incidents/arrests with police and subsequently faked a hoax story about wrongful treatment by law enforcement to help sell his book about race issues in USA. Also, numerous banned substances and steroids use that resulted in player suspensions (they happen every year). The list goes on and on when it comes to Pete's players and their issues with being responsible citizens. And you have the cheating scandals at USC that prompted his quick jump to the NFL. His players are not role models, but they can win some ball games.
yeah before the kneeling made it apparent that watching NFL games was complete waste of time, I'd gotten pretty uncomfortable with the thugs and the roidrage every week. Seemed less like football and more like gladiator blood lust. Bad examples for human civility. Not entertaining except for the high cringe factor if ya like that kind of crap. Good riddance.

I am one of about 70 million people who dont want anything to do with the NFL or their racists players,. I will laugh and laugh at their drastically lower salaries. The real prize here is if the NFL loses teams or disbands. There will still be football just no NFL.

Pete Carroll is a loathsome human being.
He was the toast of LA for his work with the USC Trojans. People in LA loved him. He built bowl-worthy teams every year.
Then USC got hit with recruiting violations, all in place with his knowledge and approval. USC was thrown out of ANY bowl contention for at least five years (if I remember correctly), and top talent refused to come to them anymore.
Carroll walked away, took a rich contract with the Seahawks and took none of the responsibility for USC's downfall, though he was FULLY responsible.
He's a total hypocrite of the lowest order. As far as I'm concerned, if the Seahawks never have a winning team again, it's way too soon.
