Most likely these businesses are just the public facing cover for their wealth. Like if a criminal owns a bar as a 'front' for their drug trafficking and murder-for-hire work, and if much of the public stops going there because the bar is openly anti-Trump or something - that doesn't put the criminal out of the crime business or make him poor, or even cause him to shut down the bar, which isn't a large portion of his revenue anyway.
