Macron threatens Lebanon with sanctions unless Beirut brings about ‘real change’ in three months

Paris will slap Lebanese elites with sanctions and could even withhold crucial financial aid if Beirut fails to implement reforms, the French president has warned.

The upcoming months would be “fundamental” for what he described as “real change,” Macron told Politico as he was heading to Beirut for a second visit in a month. Should he be not satisfied with the reforms made within the set period of time, punitive measures will follow, he added.

The list of such measures ranges from personal sanctions against members of the Lebanese political elite, to blocking an international financial bailout - vital for a country gripped by a prolonged economic and political crisis, and struggling with the aftermath of the recent major explosion in the capital.

During Macron’s previous visit in early August in the wake of the devastating blast which killed almost 200 people, the French president called for a new, interim government, as well as for an audit of the nation’s central bank and parliamentary elections within a year. Now, he says he wants “credible commitments” from the Lebanese political parties that they will stick to the plan - including a timetable for holding the legislative vote within “six to 12 months.”

The horrific blast aggravated existing problems and provoked violent anti-government demonstrations, forcing Prime Minister Hassan Diab to dissolve the cabinet in early August. A new government has however been slow to emerge, prompting President Macron to intrude on the affairs of the former French protectorate.

Macron stated he is not known for being soft and is not going to back down in Lebanon but is still wary of using what he calls France’s full force and locking horns with Hezbollah. The French president meanwhile blamed Lebanese protesters for the failure to produce a leader powerful enough to bring the country’s political elites under control.

Suspect Gaige Grosskreutz Who Has a Record, Carried a Gun and Regrets Not Shooting Kyle Rittenhouse, Runs Free in Wisconsin – How Come?

Earlier in the day on August 25th Kyle Rittenhouse was busy cleaning buildings after another night of Democrat BLM rioters damaging another US city. That night young Rittenhouse was running for his life from BLM rioters.

Rittenhouse was charged with up to 170 years for his actions that night.

Unfortunately things quickly changed for the young Rittenhouse on Tuesday night. So much so that he is now charged with multiple crimes.

One of the crimes Rittenhouse is charged with is the attempted homicide of Gaige Grosskreutz:

As can be seen below, Grosskreutz had a gun and he too was chasing Rittenhouse. Grosskreutz also has a rap sheet and may have committed a crime for carrying the gun if he is a felon. Rittenhouse shot Grosskreutz in the arm that was carrying the gun just before being shot by Grosskreutz.

Grosskreutz claimed the next day that his only regret was ‘hesitating to pull his gun’ and “not killing” 17-year-old Rittenhouse.

Rittenhouse is also charged with carrying a gun but it appears he may have had the right to carry it.

Just two days ago we reported that according to at least one CIO, Tesla is the only stock that matters: "Tesla is the key to this market, all are in Elon's world, I am ignoring everything else, rates, dollar, etc.. for now. They are truly minor in comparison until Tesla breaks." More importantly, the CIO made an important observation: "My gut tells me Elon does a massive secondary into SPX add, like $30B. It took exactly 2 days for this prediction to come partially true because moments ago, Tesla disclosed in an 8K that it had entered into an equity distribution agreement - read an "At-the-market" offering - with banks including Goldman Sachs, BofA Securities, Barclays Capital, Citigroup Global Markets, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, SG Americas, Wells Fargo and BNP Paribas (pretty much every possible bank) to sell up to $5 billion in shares from time to time based on Tesla's instructions.

Senate Republicans Push Narrow $500BN Stimulus Bill For Next Week As Overall Talks Stumble

Senate Republicans are assembling a $500 billion 'narrow' COVID-19 relief package which will be ready as early as next week, as negotiations on a larger overall package remain at an impasse.

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told CNBC on Tuesday that the biggest stumbling block between Congressional lawmakers is the amount of money allocated for state and local governments - with Democrats insisting on $915 billion out of their overall $2.2 trillion proposal (down from more than $3 trillion), while the GOP is standing firm at $150 billion in new funds on top of $150 billion previously allocated for state and local needs.

"Probably the biggest stumbling block that remains is the amount of money that would go to state and local help," said Meadows.

"The speaker is still at $915 billion dollars, which is just not a number that's based on reality, and certainly not a number that represents the lost revenues for state and local governments."

"We actually have talked about giving great flexibility for the $150 billion that was allocated in the previous CARES Act, in addition to another $150 billion that would go there which would overall give $300 billion in terms of flexibility and additional funds to state and local - which should represent the actual loss that we see," Meadows continued.

"If you take the GDP reduction that we've experienced over the last quarter, and based on projections now - that should indicate about a $275 billion loss in revenues."

Meadows added that he expects Senate Republicans to put forth a bill sometime next week that should pass the 60-vote threshold required to pass, which would be "more targeted" than the House Democrats' proposal, and would include around $500 billion in additional financial aid according to Reuters (though not heard in the clip below).

Senior ISIS member arrested in Turkey, ‘important plans’ seized

A high-ranking member of Islamic State (IS, formerly known as ISIS) has been arrested by Turkish police, the country’s interior minister has said. Some “important plans” have been seized along with the terrorist.

The announcement was made by Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu on Tuesday. In a Twitter post, the official described the detained individual as an “ISIS emir,” revealing that “important plans” of some sort have been taken from the militant.

The minister elaborated on the matter a short time later, naming the suspect as Mahmut Ozden.

“He had been constantly receiving orders from both Iraq and Syria to carry out an attack in Turkey,” Soylu said.

The minister stated that the police operation was ongoing, and that further suspects believed to have links to Ozden are being interrogated. It was not immediately clear where or when the militant was detained.

While IS has been defeated in Iraq and Syria as a quasi-state entity, it still maintains a heavy presence in the Middle East. Turkey, in particular, remains the main regional transit hub for IS terrorists, and its southern border is still very porous for weapon smuggling and militant traffic, a recent report by the lead inspector general for the US mission in Syria and Iraq indicated.

WHO's Tedros Warns "No Country Can Just Pretend The Pandemic Is Over" As Trump Embraces 'Herd Immunity'

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Monday said during the organization's latest Tuesday virtual news conference from its Geneva headquarters that "no country can just pretend the pandemic is over" as governments around the world ease social distancing restrictions and start to send children back to the classroom.

It's just the latest example of Dr. Tedros implicitly criticizing President Trump and his handling of the US outbreak, after Trump recently insisted that the virus is "under control" despite flare-ups in Sun Belt states.

"The more control countries have over the virus, the more they can open up. Opening up without having control is a recipe for disaster. It's not one size fits all, it's not all or nothing," Tedros said.

Dr. Tedros described "four essential things that all countries, communities, and individuals must focus on to take control" of the virus before they start to unwind their emergency measures.

First, prevent amplifying events. COVID-19 spreads very efficiently among clusters of people.

Second, reduce deaths by protecting vulnerable groups, including older people, those with underlying conditions, and essential workers.

Third, individuals must play their part by taking the measures we know work to protect themselves and others – stay at least one meter away from others, clean your hands regularly, practice respiratory etiquette, and wear a mask.

And fourth, governments must take tailored actions to find, isolate, test, and care for cases, and trace and quarantine contacts. Widespread stay-at-home orders can be avoided if countries take temporary and geographically-targeted interventions.

Individuals can minimize their chances of infection by avoiding the "three Cs", Dr. Tedros said: closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact environments.

Tedros also said countries should protect the most vulnerable people, including the elderly, those with underlying conditions, and essential workers to help save lives.

"If countries are serious about opening up, they must be serious about suppressing transmission and saving lives," he said. "This may seem like an impossible balance, but it's not. It can be done and it has been done."

The latest data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows more than 25 million people have been infected by COVID-19 and 848,000 have been killed globally. The US has been the epicenter of cases, reporting 6 million, along with most deaths, at 184,441.

President Trump calls for 'patriotic education' in schools: 'Left's war on police, faith, history, and American values is tearing our country apart'

President Donald Trump is calling for the United States to restore "patriotic education" to its educational system in order to tamp down continued unrest and racial tensions across the country.

Trump said that ongoing eruptions of violence across America — spurred on by the police killing of George Floyd in May — is being caused by "left-wing indoctrination" and the spread of misinformation.

"Many young Americans have been fed lies about America being a wicked nation plagued by racism," the president said during a Monday news conference. "Indeed, [Democratic presidential nominee] Joe Biden and his party spent their entire convention spreading this hateful and destructive message while refusing to say one word about the violence."

Trump added that young, impressionable children should, instead, learn what makes America an "exceptional, free and just nation, worth defending, preserving, and protecting."

"The left's war on police, faith, history, and American values is tearing our country apart, which is what they want," the president explained.

“The only path to unity is to rebuild a shared national identity focused on common American values and virtues, of which we have plenty," he added. “This includes restoring patriotic education in our nation's schools, where they're trying to change everything that we've learned."

'We will never surrender to mob rule'

The president also preached the importance of protecting America's law enforcement.

"We must strictly and fully enforce our law and have no tolerance for anarchy and no tolerance — zero — for violence," he insisted. "Anyone who breaks the law should be arrested, prosecuted, and punished. This includes targeting law enforcement efforts to focus on Antifa, the left-wing domestic terror organization. The mission of Antifa is to spread terror in the U.S. population with a goal of getting Americans to give up to their agenda."

Trump also promised supporters that the country will "never surrender to mob rule," no matter what the left has planned.

"In America, we will never surrender to mob rule, because if the mob rules democracy is indeed dead," he insisted. "The reason we are continuing to see violence in left-wing cities today is that liberal politicians, mayors, prosecutors and judges are refusing to enforce the law and put the rioters in jail. These are rioters. These are dangerous people. These are killers."

Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old from Illinois, is charged with two counts of aggravated murder after opening fire in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last week in what his lawyers claim was self-defense.

Adidas global creative director Paul Gaudio abruptly departed the sportswear company after he was criticized for what some current and former Adidas employees interpreted as a pro-Rittenhouse comment.

The Instagram post in question, published by news website Complex, included a picture of Rittenhouse and news of his criminal charges.

"He is also a victim here," Gaudio wrote, Complex reported. "He's a kid, who raised him? Who taught him? Who gave him a gun? Not excusing him by any means…but the adults who radicalized him and enabled him should be punished."

Gaudio's comment racked up more than 30 comments. One Adidas employee called it "shocking" and "mind blowing."

"Paul, I find your comment incredibly disappointing and tone deaf," the employee wrote, Complex reported. "This sort of response from anybody is shocking, but coming from a man in your position working within our business is mind blowing."

Gaudio had spent the last 13 years of his career with Adidas, according to his LinkedIn page.

Was Gaudio fired?

Well, it's not clear.

Gaudio made the Instagram comment last Thursday. Two days later, Complex reported on his departure — and Monday, Aug. 31 was his last day.

In a statement, Adidas did not indicate why Gaudio made such a rapid exit.

"We are very grateful for his contributions over his long tenure, including the last six years as our global creative director," the company said. "Paul's creative vision, deep understanding of consumer trends, and passion for breaking down the barriers between sports and the arts has played an important role in building our brand."

Is Rittenhouse a victim?

Although the teenager is currently charged with multiple felonies, his lawyers argue that Rittenhouse acted purely out of self-defense.

"Kyle did nothing wrong. He exercised his God-given, Constitutional, common law and statutory law right to self-defense," the attorneys said.

Two sources familiar with the number told The New York Times that Biden’s boost, which accounts for the official Biden campaign and joint fundraising ventures with the Democratic Party, was specifically driven by high-dollar checks written by Wall Street and technology leaders after he announced California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate. New York Times reported that some checks neared $700,000.

The Times further noted that Biden’s anticipated $300 million figure was more than President Donald Trump ($90 million) and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ($143 million)managed to raise combined in August 2016.

The Times report comes on significant changes to both candidates’ campaign strategies. Following the Republican National Convention, Biden announced that he would be returning to the campaign trail — albeit in a modified capacity — ahead of schedule. His first stop took place Monday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, high-powered Republican donors are launching a new super PAC to amplify Trump’s law and order messaging heading into the final months of the election. The effort has reportedly earned support from the likes of Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus and casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and plans to launch a $30 million TV campaign in key battleground states later this week.

Most 2020 election polls show the race tightening considerably in recent weeks. The latest offering from Morning Consult showed Trump cutting Biden’s national lead among likely voters to just 6 points.

Pope Francis Warns ‘Creation Is Groaning!’ in New Eco-Message

ROME — Pope Francis announced a “jubilee for the earth” Tuesday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, calling on all to combat the “climate emergency.”

In his message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, the pontiff has called for repentance, insisting we have “broken the bonds of our relationship with the Creator, with our fellow human beings, and with the rest of creation.”

“Our constant demand for growth and an endless cycle of production and consumption are exhausting the natural world,” the pope laments. “Forests are leached, topsoil erodes, fields fail, deserts advance, seas acidify and storms intensify.”

“Creation is groaning!” he concludes.

The solution to these problems is learning to “listen to the land,” he states, and to occupy our correct place in the “web of life.”

“We also need once more to listen to the land itself,” Francis said. “Today we hear the voice of creation admonishing us to return to our rightful place in the natural created order – to remember that we are part of this interconnected web of life, not its masters.”

“The disintegration of biodiversity, spiralling climate disasters, and unjust impact of the current pandemic on the poor and vulnerable: all these are a wakeup call in the face of our rampant greed and consumption,” he says.

The pope urges all to adopt a simpler, more austere lifestyle.

“We must examine our habits of energy usage, consumption, transportation, and diet,” he states. “We must eliminate the superfluous and destructive aspects of our economies, and nurture life-giving ways to trade, produce, and transport goods.”

More controversially, Francis calls for “restorative justice” to compensate for the “enormous ecological debt” incurred in the “historic exploitation of the global South.”

“We should not forget the historic exploitation of the global South that has created an enormous ecological debt, due mainly to resource plundering and excessive use of common environmental space for waste disposal,” he writes. “It is a time for restorative justice. In this context, I repeat my call for the cancellation of the debt of the most vulnerable countries, in recognition of the severe impacts of the medical, social and economic crises they face as a result of Covid-19.”

In his message, the pope reiterates his belief that “we are in the midst of a climate emergency” and therefore “climate restoration is of utmost importance.”

“We are running out of time, as our children and young people have reminded us,” he declares. “We need to do everything in our capacity to limit global average temperature rise under the threshold of 1.5°C enshrined in the Paris Climate Agreement, for going beyond that will prove catastrophic.”

With the commemoration of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, the pope also launched an extended “Season of Creation,” which will continue until the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi on the fourth of October.

“During this period, Christians worldwide renew their faith in the God of creation and join in prayer and work for the care of our common home,” he states.

Sasha Johnson, a leader of the Oxford branch of Black Lives Matter, announced on Sunday the formation of what she termed “the first black-led political party in the UK”.

At a so-called Million Man March in London — which saw approximately four hundred activists join — Ms Johnson unveiled her new political party, the Taking The Initiative Party (TTIP).

In a video released by the conservative student organisation Turning Point UK, the far-left activist said that though the leadership of the new party will be black, she claimed: “This isn’t just a party for black people though, it’s a party for the working class.”

“We are tired of being let down by Labour, Conservatives, and Lib-Dem and all of them. We want our own political party, one that reflects the multicultural nation that we have become,” she said.

The black radical activist then led a chant with her supporters, shouting “Power, power… by any means necessary.”

Later on at the rally, Black Lives Matter activists were filmed raising the British flag covered in blood on the streets of the British capital, as they sang “mamma, mamma don’t you cry, we will march until we die… mamma, mamma don’t you know, the police has got to go”.

It is currently unclear what role Sasha Johnson will play in the newly founded party, as the Taking The Initiative Party said that it will announce its Executive Leadership Committee in September.

In the party constitution, TTIP pronounced that the goal of the party will be “to help all local people, without regard to party or any other factor, to secure their rights and to protect them against oppression; and to promote diversity of cultures within the party and to represent the interests of under-represented groups in the locality.”

In July, Sasha Johnson was captured in a viral Breitbart London exclusive video calling for “revolution” and proclaiming that the police in Britain are no “different from the KKK“.

The Black Lives Matter activist went on to call for a creation of a “black militia”, saying: “I’m not saying it because I want people to fear and think we’re coming violent. Responding to the Breitbart News viral video, Douglas Murray, author of The Madness of Crowds and The Strange Death of Europe, described Johnson as a “Che Guevara guerrilla leader“.

“She’s play-acting revolutionaryism… Everything about the way she presents herself and the way she and her friends speak and present themselves is as people who want to play-act as revolutionaries,” Murray said.

In June, Johnson was filmed in another Breitbart London video, proclaiming that “racism only exists because of capitalism”.

She called for black people “to cut off their money, we need to make a bigger challenge, stop paying our taxes, stop turning up to their workplace,” adding: “if we can strike for climate, we can strike for black lives”.

China Says Australia Becoming ‘Poor White Trash of Asia’ by Resisting Beijing

A Chinese government-controlled newspaper warned Tuesday that Australia will become the “poor white trash of Asia” unless it stops pushing back against the ruling Communist Party.

The Global Times said in an editorial Australia stands to become impoverished because it resists Chinese investment through the “Belt and Road” initiative while refusing to blindly applaud the rise of China itself.

The provocative article was a response to Prime Minster Scott Morrison’s continued drive to hold China to account for its actions on the world stage.

In 2020 alone the Australian Government has led calls for an international probe into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic while assuring Hong Kong residents they have the right to live in Australia as the former colony’s freedoms are taken away.

All as Australian warships have been working with the U.S. Navy to curb Chinese aggression in contested waters.

In just the past few weeks, Canberra has blocked the sale of a local milk producer to a Chinese firm, signalled greater scrutiny on Chinese-backed research and departments at Australian universities and warned it may halt the state of Victoria from co-operating with Beijing’s desire for capital investment.

Perhaps most significantly, Australia’s decision to join the U.S. and ban Huawei from any participation in a national 5G network back in February drew a scalding response from Beijing which threatened trade restriction in reprisal.

The Global Times has now given voice to that frustration in the single-party state and warned rejecting Chinese blandishments will make Australia poor. It said:

As Australia suffers soaring unemployment, an old and worn-out railway system, a network speed far slower than other Asian countries’ and halted development plans, the Australian people may start to recall former Prime Minister John Howard’s encouragement of Western leaders to “welcome rise of China.”

Indeed, further decoupling with China will not send China back to poverty, but will only make former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s famous statement more likely to come true: that if Australia doesn’t open up its economy and reduce unemployment, it risks becoming the “poor white trash of Asia”.

Lee made his comment in 1980 in a bid to urge Australia to open its economy to foreign investment. Today investors from the United States and the United Kingdom put the most money into Australia, with China way back in ninth place.

Australia’s effort in holding China to account means it is defying the ruling Communist Party which historically regards telling the truth as an act of sedition and will seek whatever means possible to make an example of Canberra on the world stage.

For their part, the Aussies just shrug their shoulders and keep fighting back.

Tucker Carlson asked acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf Monday why the feds aren’t acting quicker against people involved in the riots in major U.S. cities.

Wolf spoke with Carlson following the violence in Portland over the weekend where one man — identified as a supporter of the right-wing group Patriot Prayer — was killed.

Carlson questioned Wolf on whether he thinks DHS is getting enough help from the DOJ, asking, “Why haven’t we seen the leaders of Antifa and BLM arrested and charged for conspiracy under, say, RICO, like the heads of the Mafia families were?”

He added that the DOJ is targeting and investigating the head of these organizations’ and the people “paying for these individuals to move across the country.”

“You’re not allowed to fund crime. Of course,” Carlson said. “If I do business with Iran, I go to jail. But we have domestic terrorism on a greater scale than we have had in my lifetime, 50 years, and the funders of this have not been exposed by the federal government and they haven’t been punished and I’m confused as to why.”

Wolf said again the DOJ is “moving as quickly as possible” and added, “Like you, Tucker, I wish that was in a little quicker fashion. We’ll continue to see how that is. But again, this administration, this president is committed to holding individuals accountable.”

Right after the interview, Carlson added this:

“I have to say, when they don’t like somebody, justice moves very swiftly. Or when there’s something that, I don’t know, the Today Show wants them to do, they don’t waste time. When some NASCAR driver said he was the victim of a hate crime because his garage door pull looked like a noose, they sent, like, I don’t know, a dozen FBI agents down to Talladega. Brexit Fishing Wars: EU Ransoms Treaty Until UK Surrenders Territorial Waters

The European Union is refusing to discuss a treaty on fishing unless the United Kingdom abandons its claim of full sovereignty over its own territorial waters.

Currently, under the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), fishermen from the EU27 land more than 60 per cent of fish in Britain’s waters. The French, for example, are legally allowed to catch 84 per cent of Britain’s cod caught in the English Channel and two-thirds of British Irish Sea haddock. While the UK wants to take back full control of its territorial waters and agree on annual fishing licences with EU countries, Brussels is demanding long-term pledges.

Sources speaking to The Times have said that the European Union’s chief negotiator, former French minister Michel Barnier, will only agree to “minor changes to the historic track record” which has been in place since the 1970s, with any deviations from the current system a “no go”.

“The EU has always said that fishing is a key issue for resolution but has subsequently declined to discuss it,” a source told the newspaper of record on Tuesday.

“We had hoped to make progress and presented room papers but, unfortunately, the EU refused to engage due to their self-imposed requirements,” he added, in reference to the EU’s policy on “parallelism”, where Barnier will not talk on single issues unless the UK makes significant concessions to the bloc.

“There is a need for more realism from the EU on the scale of the change that results from our leaving the EU. This is not a request but the legal default under international law,” the source added.

France’s foreign minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, complained that the UK reasserting full national sovereignty while still seeking a deal with the protectionist European Union was “unrealistic”. He said on Monday: “Negotiations are not advancing due to the intransigent and frankly unrealistic attitude of the UK.”

Boris Johnson’s government hit back at the EU. A spokesman told the Evening Standard: “We have been clear from the outset about the principles underlying the UK approach: we are seeking a relationship that respects our sovereignty and which has a free trade agreement at its core, similar to those the EU has already agreed with like-minded countries.

“However, the EU is still insisting not only that we must accept continuity with EU state aid and fisheries policy, but also that this must be agreed before any further substantive work can be done in any other area of the negotiation, including on legal texts, making it unnecessarily difficult to make progress.”

The UK officially left the EU on January 31st, 2020, but remains tied to the bloc’s rules and regulations in the ‘transition period’ until December 31st, 2020. If a deal is not struck by then, the UK will deal with the bloc on World Trade Organization (WTO) terms; though, in reality, the two parties have until the end of this month to make a deal in time for it to be ratified by the European Parliament in October.

The Times reports that if the European force a no-deal, the Royal Navy may find itself clashing with Danish, French, and Spanish fishermen in the protection of British waters. In June, British fishermen revealed they anticipate the government will refuse to back down, resulting in clashes with French fishermen in the Channel, akin to other skirmishes in recent years.

Registered repeat sex offender allegedly chases down naked teen boy, executes him in the street

A registered sex offender is facing homicide charges in the shooting death of a teenage boy in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the Morning Call reported.

In 2015, the suspect was entered as a lifetime sex offender into Pennsylvania's Megan's Law registry for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

Registered sex offender Orlando P. Duarte, 45, reportedly gunned down a teenage boy on Saturday on a city street.

The teen, identified as 16-year-old Kyan King, was allegedly naked and fleeing from Duarte when the registered sex offender reportedly gunned him down in cold blood.

Investigators said that Duarte fired several shots at the child.

Police responded to a call of shots fired on Sunday morning and discovered an armed Duarte after a brief chase. He was immediately taken into custody without incident and remains in custody at the Dauphin County Prison without bail.

The teen was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Eyewitness Tracy Burton told the outlet that the teen was begging Duarte for his life.

Burton said that she was on her porch when she saw the naked boy speed by shouting, "Help me!"

At least five gunshots soon followed the teen's cries for help, Burton added.

A witness also told the Patriot-News that she saw the teen run by, telling her that he had been raped, and a man armed with a gun was chasing him. The unnamed witness ran into her home to get a towel for the boy, but by the time she returned, he had been shot.

The outlet reported, "A third witness said he saw the boy at Duarte's apartment in the 600 block of North 17th Street earlier that day.

Inside the apartment, police found a box of .22-caliber shell casings and two letters. One letter appeared to be from Kyan, saying 'If you're reading this, I'm dead.' The letter went on to say how much he loved everyone."

The suicide rate for men in England and Wales in 2019 was the highest for two decades, official figures have revealed.

New data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), published on Tuesday, found there were 5,691 suicides registered in England and Wales in 2019, with a rate of 11 deaths per 100,000 population.

The ONS said men accounted for around three-quarters of suicide deaths registered in 2019 - 4,303 compared with 1,388 women.

The England and Wales male suicide rate of 16.9 deaths per 100,000 was the highest since 2000 but remained in the line with the 2018 rate, it added.

Meanwhile, the rate for women aged between 10 and 24 has almost doubled since 2012 from 1.6 deaths per 100,000 (81 deaths) to its highest level at 3.1 deaths per 100,000 females (159 deaths) in 2019.

Yorkshire and Humber was the area with the highest rate of suicide for both men and women.

Amazon spies on staff, fires them by text for not hitting secretive targets, workers 'feel forced to work through pain, injuries' – report

Amazon is famous for its extreme efficiency yet behind the curtain is a crippling culture of surveillance and stress, according to a study by the Open Markets Institute.

The think tank and advocacy group that repeatedly takes companies like Google and Facebook to task warned in the report [PDF] that Amazon's retail side has gone far beyond promoting efficient working and has adopted an almost dystopian level of control over its warehouse workers, firing them if they fail to meet targets that are often kept a secret.

Among the practices it highlighted, the report said that workers are told to hit a target rate of packages to process per hour, though they are not told what exactly that target is. "We don't know what the rate is," one pseudonymous worker told the authors. "They change it behind the scenes. You'll know when you get a warning. They don't tell you what rate you have to hit at the beginning."

If they grow close to not meeting a target rate, or miss it, the worker receives an automated message warning them, the report said. Workers who fail to meet hidden targets can also receive a different type of electronic message; one that fires them.

"Amazon's electronic system analyzes an employee's electronic record and, after falling below productivity measures, 'automatically generates any warnings or terminations regarding quality or productivity without input from supervisors'," it stated. The data is also generated automatically: for example, those picking and packing are required to use a scanner that records every detail, including the time between scans, and feed it into a system that pushes out automated warnings.

Always watching

As with other companies, Amazon installs surveillance cameras in its workspaces to reduce theft. But the report claims Amazon has taken that approach to new lengths "with an extensive network of security cameras that tracks and monitors a worker's every move".

Bezos' bunch combines that level of surveillance with strict limits on behavior. "Upon entering the warehouse, Amazon requires workers to dispose of all of their personal belongings except a water bottle and a clear plastic bag of cash," the report noted.

For Amazon drivers, their location is constantly recorded and monitored and they are required to follow the exact route Amazon has mapped. They are required to deliver 999 out of every 1,000 packages on time or face the sack; something that the report argues has led to widespread speeding and a related increase in crashes.

The Fed Just Printed More in Six Months Than It Did From 2008-2016

The Fed has finally made up its mind… it wants inflation.

Ever since the great financial crisis of 2008, the big question has been:

What will be the ultimate outcome from all this money printing/ Fed intervention… another deflationary collapse or an inflationary storm?

Some 12 years later… we finally have our answer… it will be an inflationary storm.

Last week the Fed announced:

1) It is changing its inflationary target from 2% to an average of 2% (meaning inflation could overshoot to the upside).

2) That it was comfortable with inflation as high as 3% as long as it does so at a manageable rate.

Remember, this is the Fed we are talking about, not some gold bug. So, the mere fact the Fed is even suggesting that it is OK with higher rates of inflation has systemic implications.

The Fed has long averred that inflation was nowhere to be found… that it if ever did show up that the Fed could easily contain it… and that truthfully none of us need to worry about inflation ever getting out of control.

So, the fact the Fed is suddenly OK with inflation running hot is akin to a structural engineer saying, “I’m fine with this massive dam leaking, possibly even a lot… provided the leaks occur in a way that is manageable.”

During the interview, Trump said that his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, was having his 'strings' pulled by 'people you have never heard of, people in the dark shadows.'

Ingraham replied: 'What does that mean? That sounds like conspiracy theory.'

But Trump replied: 'They are people that are on the streets, people who are controlling the streets.

'We had somebody get on a plane from a certain city, this weekend. And in the plane it was almost completely loaded with thugs wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms, with gear and this and that. They're on a plane.'

When asked for details, he replied: 'I'll tell you some time. It's under investigation right now.'

Trump's statement came on the same day that he defended the actions of Kyle Rittenhouse - the 17-year-old who shot two people dead during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Trump said the teen - a supporter of the president - 'probably would have been killed' by an angry mob if he hadn't fired at them with the illegal gun he was carrying.

'Horrible things are happening right before our eyes': The left is NORMALIZING pedophilia, child sex trafficking

It took the Netflix 'Cuties' controversy to awaken us to a very serious issue. Buried underneath the left's favorite tag lines "love is love" and "asylum is a human right," a much more sinister movement is growing: the normalization of pedophilia.

In this episode of "Wilkow," host Andrew Wilkow argued that the truth has been branded as a "crazy conspiracy theory" because it exposes the people who control the dominant narrative.

Wilkow highlighted a New York Times article, titled "Pedophilia: A Disorder, Not a Crime," in which contributor Margo Kaplan argued that laws in this country are failing people who are living with pedophilia, a mental disorder defined as "an intense and recurrent sexual interest in prepubescent children," and that these failures stem largely from two main misconceptions:

"Pedophilia is a status and not an act. In fact, research shows, about half of all child molesters are not sexually attracted to their victims," Kaplan wrote. "A second misconception is that pedophilia is a choice. Recent research, while often limited to sex offenders — because of the stigma of pedophilia — suggests that the disorder may have neurological origins. Pedophilia could result from a failure in the brain to identify which environmental stimuli should provoke a sexual response."

As Wilkow pointed out, Kaplan went on to argue that pedophiles should be protected under the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, but that Congress had "explicitly excluded pedophilia" from such legal protections.

Wilkow also reviewed an article from The Daily Caller, "Pedophiles Believe They Should Be A Part Of The LGBT Community."

"Pedophiles are rebranding themselves as 'MAPs' or 'Minor Attracted Persons' in an effort to gain acceptance and be included into the LGBT community," he read. "According to Urban Dictionary, the blanket term MAP includes infantophiles (infants), pedophiles (pre-pubescent children), hebephiles (pubescent children), and ephebophiles (post-pubescent children). […] These pedophiles seek to be a part of the LGBT+ community, even going so far as to make a "Pride" flag for Gay Pride Month."

Wilkow also discussed how leftist politicians and the mainstream media have tried to tie President Donald Trump to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, while protecting big name Democrats like former President Bill Clinton and former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.

Kenosha police: Of 175 people arrested since start of rioting, 102 live elsewhere — in 44 other cities

Kenosha police have made 175 arrests since rioting began over a week ago on the heels of the police-involved shooting of a black man, Jacob Blake, WITI-TV reported, citing a Sunday news release.

And believe it or not, the vast majority of arrestees are from out of town.

Police said that 102 of those arrested listed addresses outside Kenosha — from 44 other cities, the release said.

One incident from Wednesday may illustrate the numbers a bit, as police got a tip about "several suspicious vehicles with out-of-state plates meeting in a remote lot late near State Highway 50 and Green Bay Road."

So officers checked it out, and sure enough they said they found a black school bus, a bread truck, and a tan minivan with out-of-state plates — and commenced surveillance with United States Marshals. Authorities then followed the trio of vehicles to a gas station where officers observed occupants exit the bus and the bread truck and attempt to fill multiple fuel cans.

Suspecting the individuals were preparing for criminal activity related to civil unrest in the city, police said officers exited their vehicles, identified themselves, and detained the occupants of the bus and the bread truck. The driver of the minivan tried to pull away, police said, but the vehicle was stopped and officers forced their way inside and arrested the occupants.

Police said the vehicles contained helmets, gas masks, protective vests, illegal fireworks, and suspected controlled substances.

The nine individuals were arrested for disorderly conduct and are pending charging decisions by the Kenosha County district attorney, police added.

Of the 175 arrested over the week, 34 were cuffed for curfew violations and additional charges ranging from carrying concealed weapons to burglary and possession of controlled substances, WITI said.

More than 20 firearms were seized as well, the station said.

The riots, fires, and destruction got so bad that Wisconsin's governor called out the National Guard to help. Some of the lowlights have included:

A group of apparent street fighters — some armed with rifles and handguns — staring down a sheriff's vehicle as fires burned in the background.

A law enforcement officer falling face-first on the street after apparently getting struck in the head with an object — and someone from the surrounding mob yelling that the victim "got bricked!" as others cheered and applauded.

An elderly man getting viciously attacked after fighting back against looters of a burning business. He was knocked down, flattened on a sidewalk, and ended up with a bloody face.

On Tuesday night, leftist rioters squared off with gun-toting men who said they were in the city to protect property. One of the armed individuals, 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, allegedly shot dead two people and seriously wounded a third. Rittenhouse's lawyers said he acted in self-defense.

Bombshell new documentary seeks to expose Joe and Hunter Biden's secret Chinese business dealings

A new documentary promises to shine a light on Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden's politically-wrought business dealings in China that for years have been largely hidden from the public eye — and have even benefitted the Chinese military.

The documentary, called "Riding the Dragon: Uncovering the Bidens' Chinese Secrets," was produced by Lightspeed Pictures in association with BlazeTV and features New York Times bestselling author Peter Schweizer.

Schweizer, who is also president of the Government Accountability Institute, investigated the Bidens — Hunter Biden's suspicious board position at the infamous Ukrainian gas company, Burisma, in particular — for his 2018 book, "Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America's Progressive Elite."

Now in the new documentary, Schweizer drills down into Hunter Biden and his private equity firm's lucrative business deals with the Chinese government.

"This isn't just another story about a politician's kid getting rich," the film's narrator says in the trailer. "Hunter's new firm started making investment deals that would serve the strategic interests of the Chinese military."

"This is the remarkable and largely hidden story of the secret financial relationship between the Biden family and the Chinese government," the narrator adds.

During a radio interview with Glenn Beck Monday, Schweizer added some details about the business dealings not divulged in the trailer.

He claimed that his investigation turned up information suggesting the Bidens cooperated with the Chinese partners to bypass laws allowing them to acquire companies that benefitted the Chinese military in the technology space.

Schweizer also suggested that these business dealings could be the reason that Democratic nominee Joe Biden has not been critical of the communist government in China.

"The question is why [is Biden not critical of China]?" asks Schweizer. "To me … he became much more soft on Beijing when his son started getting very lucrative, exclusive deals courtesy of the Chinese government."
