President Trump on Tuesday got an up-close look at the damage caused by recent riots and looting in Kenosha, Wis. – touring property damaged by the violence and promising to help devastated businesses rebuild.

“We’re going to get it fixed up, we’re going to help people rebuild their businesses in Kenosha…we’re getting it straightened out,” he told reporters before visiting the city.

He toured the area, including a burnt out building still smelling of smoke, alongside officials including Attorney General William Barr and acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wold. He spoke with members of law enforcement as he visited the site.

His visit was also met by protesters, with a large group raising their middle fingers at the president as the motorcade passed.

ICE announces results of latest operations targeting criminal aliens

Targets included those with arrests or convictions for assault, domestic violence, other crimes involving victims

WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Tuesday the results of recent enforcement actions targeting removable aliens who have been arrested for, or have pending charges or convictions, for crimes involving victims.

“The aliens targeted during this operation preyed on men, women and children in our communities, committing serious crimes and, at times, repeatedly hurting their victims,” said Senior Official Performing the Duties of the ICE Director Tony H. Pham. “By focusing our efforts on perpetrators of crimes against people, we’re able to remove these threats from our communities and prevent future victimization from occurring. Through our targeted enforcement efforts, we are eliminating the threat posed by these criminals, many of whom are repeat offenders.”

Data captured from July 13 to Aug. 20 shows that ICE officers arrested more than 2,000 at-large individuals living illegally in the U.S., or who are removable from the U.S. due to their criminal histories. About 85 percent of those arrested by ICE on immigration charges also had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.

Many had multiple criminal convictions and pending charges for crimes committed against victims. (Note: these numbers represent criminal charges and convictions, not individuals. Individuals can have multiple criminal charges and convictions.) Those crimes included:

388 convictions and 386 pending charges for assault – including simple assault, battery against family and non-family members and assault against law enforcement;

291 convictions and 216 pending charges for domestic violence;

83 convictions and 64 pending charges for sexual offenses – including rape, sexual assault, indecent exposure and failure to register as a sex offender;

136 convictions and 63 pending charges for family offenses – including neglect and cruelty towards a spouse or child;

71 convictions and 40 pending charges for sexual offenses involving a minor;

14 convictions and 12 pending charges for homicide – negligent manslaughter and murder;

23 convictions and 44 pending charges for harassment – extortion, intimidation and harassing communications;

29 convictions and 7 pending charges for hit-and-run;

20 convictions and 10 pending charges for robbery;

12 convictions and 2 pending charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor;

9 convictions and 15 pending charges for kidnapping;

11 convictions and 3 pending charges for identity theft;

1 conviction and 1 pending charge for arson; and 1 conviction for rioting.

ICE continues to target criminal aliens and other public safety and national security threats every day. ICE does not exempt classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement. All those in violation of immigration law may be subject to arrest, detention and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States. ICE takes many factors into account when targeting and arresting individuals, including their criminal and immigration history.

Concluding historic US-Israeli visit to Abu Dhabi, White House adviser says the ‘vocal minority’ against UAE’s normalization with Israel will become more isolated

Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner predicted Tuesday that all other Arab countries will gradually follow the United Arab Emirates in normalizing ties with Israel, causing the “vocal minority” that opposes the move to become increasingly isolated in the region.

Asked in an interview with the UAE’s WAM news agency whether he believed all 22 Arab states could eventually recognize Israel, US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law replied: “100 percent.”

“I believe that it is logical for them to do it and I believe it is the right thing to do over time,” he said.

“I think thanks to the UAE leadership there will be a much bigger coalition. [There will be] what I call ‘a vocal majority’ that will be in favor of normalizing. I think the vocal minority who have been against it will be more and more isolated in the region,” he said.

Kushner predicted that another Arab country could establish diplomatic ties with Israel within months.

“Let’s hope it’s months,” he said when asked whether such a step was foreseeable in months or years. He didn’t name the country.

“Obviously anything could happen, but the reality is that a lot of people are envious of the move that the United Arab Emirates has made,” said Kushner.

“We don’t solve problems by not talking to each other. So, normalizing relations and allowing people-to-people and business exchanges will only make the Middle East stronger and a more stable place,” added the senior US official during his historic trip to Abu Dhabi with an Israeli delegation, which ended Tuesday.

Judge: Feds can be sued for failures in Flint water crisis

DETROIT (AP) — The federal government can be sued for negligence in the Flint water crisis, a judge said Wednesday, citing the failure of regulators to timely act as good Samaritans and blow the whistle on lead in the water supply.

The decision comes days after the state of Michigan said it’s willing to pay $600 million to settle a raft of lawsuits by Flint residents over disastrous decisions by Gov. Rick Snyder’s administration.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency didn’t cause Flint’s water to be contaminated with lead, but it knew about high lead levels and didn’t crack down in time, U.S. District Judge Judith Levy said in an 86-page opinion.

“Indeed, the harm to (residents) increased every day they drank, fed their babies formula made with contaminated water, and took showers in lead and bacteria-infested water,” Levy said.

Starting in April 2014, Flint pulled water from the Flint River for 18 months without treating it to reduce corrosion. The water caused lead to be released from old pipes and into kitchen taps, bathrooms and water heaters.

The government said Michigan was the lead regulator and bears any responsibility, among other arguments.

But the judge noted that the EPA responded to complaints about the water and provided expertise to the state and Flint.

“The EPA knew as early as June 2015 that Flint residents were in danger of drinking and being exposed to lead contaminated water,” Levy said.

Additionally, reports have indicated that the entire U.S. water supply includes unhealthy levels of chemicals and pesticides AND millions of Americans can’t even afford it because of utility cost increases.

Federal court blocks release of Trump taxes while case appealed

A federal appeals court in New York on Tuesday temporarily halted a lower court ruling that would have sped up the disclosure of President Trump's tax returns to prosecutors in Manhattan.

The unanimous ruling by a three-judge panel of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals allows Trump to continue shielding eight years of corporate and personal tax returns while he appeals the lower court decision.

The 2nd Circuit on Tuesday also scheduled a Sept. 25 hearing over Trump’s claim that the New York grand jury subpoena seeking his tax returns is overbroad and was issued in bad faith. A federal trial judge dismissed those assertions in a lengthy opinion last month.

Tuesday’s ruling moves Manhattan prosecutors further away from obtaining Trump’s tax returns and makes the already unlikely possibility of the public seeing the documents before the November election even more remote.

The dispute in New York over access to Trump’s financial documents began last year when Cyrus Vance Jr., the Democratic district attorney for Manhattan, obtained a grand jury subpoena for Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars USA.

Vance's office is looking into payments made to silence two women who allege they had affairs with Trump, including adult-film star Stormy Daniels, before he became president, as well as possibly extensive criminal conduct at the Trump Organization.

Before Tuesday, Trump had lost every round of battle in court as he tried to fend off the subpoena.

In July, the Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling that rejected Trump’s claim that, as a sitting president, he enjoyed “absolute immunity” from criminal investigations.

Trump then filed a second complaint to the federal trial court in the Southern District of New York, claiming the subpoena for his financial records amounted to a fishing expedition.

Last month, U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero dismissed Trump’s latest complaint, prompting his appeal to the 2nd Circuit.

Massive Ansar Allah Operation in Central Yemen Reveals Alliance Between al-Qaeda and Islamic State

A recent operation carried out in Yemen’s al-Badya province by Ansar Allah revealed an active alliance between al-Qaeda and IS forces who, documents reveal, were hoping to recreate a Mosul or Raqqa-like scenario in central Yemen.

AL-BAYDA,YEMEN– Yemen may be set to repeat the horrific events of 2014, when fighters with the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) swept across Iraq and Syria, holding an area extending from western Iraq to eastern Syria and carrying out mass executions, kidnapping, and torture. Today, the same scenario is taking shape in the torn-war country of Yemen where the group had preparations to sweep the Yemeni provinces of al-Bayda, Dhamar, and Sana’a in a move that many believe is aimed at changing the equation on the ground after a failed Saudi-led coalition military incursion in the country.

A national coalition of fighters led by Ansar Allah recently defeated the largest den of IS and al-Qaeda militants seen in the Arabian Peninsula in central Yemen. In the week-long operation, thought to the be the largest of its kind since the war in Yemen began, the terrorist groups left behind dozens of documents, including maps, passports, and videos, some of which were viewed by MintPress. Confession of hundreds of captured IS and al-Qaeda fighters, including many from western countries, revealed that the groups were receiving support from Saudi Arabia and wanted to repeat an “Iraqi Mousel scenario” in Yemen by the end of 2020.

The Ansar Allah-led army, supported by local al-Bayda tribesmen, successfully swept the Qeifah, Gurashyah, and Walled Rabie districts in al-Bayda province where IS and al-Qaeda fighters controlled an area estimated at 1,000 square kilometers. More than 1,000 foreign and local fighters, including high-ranking leaders, were killed or captured in the operation. Many of the groups’ leaders were involved in the killings and executions of civilians in Syria and Iraq and at least 200 surrendered themself to Ansar Allah on the condition that their identities not be revealed to their home countries.

Salem Hassen, who appears no older than 30 years old, is one of the dozens of foreign leaders captured in the operation. Hassen is from Saudi Arabia, particularly from Breidah al-Qassim, located at the heart of the Kingdom. Other fighters hailed from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Syria. While most surrendered themselves, some wore explosive belts and blew themselves up before they could be apprehended, including the man thought to be the head of IS in Yemen, Radwan Muhammad Hussein Qanan, known as Abu Al-Walid Al-Adani. Other notable high-level figures in the organization were also killed in the operation, including Suleiman al-Adani, who was in charge of manufacturing workshops for explosive belts; Book Security Officer, Muin Nasir Al-Maflahi and Hamed Abdo Anam, known as “Khattab al-Ibbi,” in charge of relations with IS. Notably, many of the fighters captured in the operation hailed from countries far from Yemen, including from Europe.

EU to extend sanctions on Russian nationals for another six months — source

The current sanctions expire on September 15

BRUSSELS, September 1. /TASS/. The European Union will soon extend its sanctions on Russian individuals, which expire on September 15, for another six months, a source in one of the delegations to the Council of the European Union told TASS on Tuesday.

"Restrictions are expected to be extended for another six months in the near future," he said.

According to the diplomat, a political decision on extending the sanctions will be made at one of the upcoming meetings. After that, it will be approved by the Council of the EU and published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

In 2014, the European Union began to impose sanctions on Russian and Ukrainian nationals whose "actions undermined Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence." The EU’s blacklist currently includes 175 people and 44 entities, mostly state agencies and military units of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The European Union’s sanctions on Russia also include economic restrictions and Crimea-related sanctions.

Former Whitmer Aide Hired by Biden Stonewalls Legislative Probe

Aide helped steer lucrative contact tracing contract to Dem data firm

A former top aide to Michigan Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer—who has since been hired to help lead Joe Biden's campaign in the state—is stonewalling a legislative probe into his role in steering a lucrative coronavirus contract to a Democratic consulting firm.

Ed Duggan, a former state employee now serving as Biden's Michigan political director, rebuffed a call from Republican legislators to testify before Michigan's Joint Select Committee on the COVID-19 Pandemic. The committee was created to examine the state's handling of the virus after Whitmer awarded a no-bid contact tracing contract to a Democratic campaign vendor recommended by Duggan.

"Today, former Whitmer administration employee Ed Duggan notified our committee that he's refusing to testify about his participation in a highly suspect political no-bid government contract," state lawmakers Matt Hall and Aric Nesbitt said in a Friday statement. "Citizens expect accountability, so hopefully his current employer, Joe Biden, will require Ed Duggan to testify and provide the people of Michigan answers."

The contract would have seen Democratic political consultant Mike Kolehouse and liberal data behemoth NGP VAN collect sensitive health data from thousands of Michigan residents. Internal emails show that Duggan introduced Kolehouse to top health department officials in late March, describing the liberal operative as someone who "does some organizing and can help on some efforts." Whitmer rescinded the contract in April amid concerns that she was using the pandemic to boost the Democratic Party's data operation.

The Biden campaign hired Duggan, despite his role in the controversy, as its Michigan political director in late June, touting his role as a former "special adviser" to Whitmer. Duggan is also the son of Detroit mayor Mike Duggan (D.). Whitmer, a former VP hopeful who serves as a Biden campaign co-chair, defended the decision to employ Kolehouse by claiming that those awarding the contract did not "have a political bone in their theoretical body."

FBI, DOJ announce sweeping new FISA reforms in aftermath of Russia debacle

Changes include creation of new audit office to ensure accuracy of surveillance warrant applications.

Seeking to address massive failures during the Russia probe, FBI Director Chris Wray and Attorney General William Barr announced Tuesday sweeping new reforms to ensure future warrants targeting Americans under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act are accurate, legal and free from political influence.

The changes include the creation of a new audit office to review FISA applications and new vetting to ensure the accuracy of agents' evidence when seeking to spy on U.S. citizens. The Justice Department also created new protocol governing when surveillance can be conducted on elected officials and candidates for office.

The changes, memorialized in two separate memos, are an outgrowth of a DOJ inspector general report last December that identified 17 instances of misconduct, erroneous evidence, factual omissions and mistakes in the pursuit of a FISA application targeting former Trump adviser Carter Page during the Russia collusion investigation. Last month, a former FBI lawyer pleaded guilty to falsifying evidence during the probe.

"FISA is a critical tool to ensuring the safety and security of Americans, particularly when it comes to fighting terrorism. However, the American people must have confidence that the United States government will exercise its surveillance authorities in a manner that protects the civil liberties of Americans, avoids interference in the political process, and complies with the Constitution and laws of the United States," Barr said. "What happened to the Trump presidential campaign and his subsequent administration after the President was duly elected by the American people must never happen again."

Wray said the new changes build on the more than three dozen reforms he announced to FISA procedures after the IG report became public.

"Since the Inspector General's Crossfire Hurricane report was issued last December, I have made clear that it describes conduct that was unacceptable and unrepresentative of the FBI as an organization," the FBI director said. "That's why I immediately ordered more than 40 corrective actions, including foundational FISA reforms, many of which went beyond those recommended by the Inspector General. The FBI has been working diligently to implement these corrective actions. The additional reforms announced today, which we worked on closely with the Attorney General's office, will build on the FBI's efforts to bolster its compliance program."

Americans Assaulted: When Local Officials Refuse to Enforce The Law

As Fitton has argued for months, many local and state officials cannot be trusted with containing the violence which ravages their cities. As was the case with Seattle, Portland, and many other cities across the United States, the “riots take place because of political decisions by local officials to not enforce the law.” In response, while forces within the Administration, including high-ranking Pentagon officials, have seemed reluctant for the president to invoke the Insurrection Act, Fitton argues that the president should. Giving the Federal Government the power to mobilize forces where there is escalating unrest, the president “should not wait for the governors to ask. he should invoke the Act as soon as anything pops up and move in. That’s what the law is there for,” Fitton concluded.

The events in DC were forseeable, in Fitton’s words. “Before the event began, the communists had been gathering. It was evident what had been happening. and sure enough they were assaulting 1,000+ Americans including senior government officials leaving the WH.”

Ford To Cut 1,000 Salaried Workers In North America Under $11 Billion Global Restructuring Plan

Ford (F) has plans to cut about 1,000 salaried jobs in North America under its $11 billion global restructuring plan.

The news of the layoffs come as Ford is expected to report an operating loss for 2020 – its first in a decade - as it looks to improve its efficiency, sources told Bloomberg. An announcement about the job cuts are expected to come from the automaker as early as this week, the sources said.

While the auto industry stalled after shutting down production in March because of the coronavirus, the sources for the news outlet said the rising costs associated with the pandemic did not impact the job cuts.

The layoffs are expected to come in the form of voluntary buyouts, Bloomberg said.

The move by Ford to cut jobs in North America follows the lay off of 7,000 salaried workers worldwide in 2019 under the restructuring plan. The automaker has about 36,000 salaried employees in the U.S. and about 190,000 workers globally at the end of 2019, CNBC reported.

Ford announced its $11 billion restructuring plan in 2018 as it struggled to maintain global sales. At the time of the announcement, Ford said it would end production on some of its unprofitable vehicle models while closing some global production plants.

Hezbollah Publishes Video Threatening Israel With Pending Reprisal Attack

Over a month has passed since a Hezbollah fighter was killed in SyriaHezbollah has released a video warning Israel that it will conduct proportionate reprisal attacks for every attack against Hezbollah. Meanwhile, Israel and Hamas have announced a ceasefire with respect to the Gaza strip. This may reflect Israel’s desire to calm the situation on the Gaza front for a while so that it can devote all its military attention to the border with Lebanon as it tries to fend off Hezbollah’s reprisal attack(s).

Speaking on Sunday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah vowed that the group will kill an Israeli soldier for every Hezbollah member killed.

Nasrallah described the action as the most effective means of deterring further Israeli attacks.

“Let the Israelis understand that whenever they kill one of our mujahideen, we will kill one of their soldiers. We are committed to an equation. Our objective is not revenge but punishment and to establish a balance of deterrence.”

Israel has been continuously reinforcing its military presence and activities along the contact line with Lebanon and Syria over the last month in anticipation of a military strike by Hezbollah. Over the last couple of days, Israel has carried out additional strikes against Lebanon although no casualties have been reported, presumably an attempt to avoid increasing the scale of the pending Hezbollah response.

The heads of organizations believed to be behind the recent riots in the United States are being probed by the Department of Justice (DOJ), a top law enforcement official said late Monday.

“This is something that I have talked to the attorney general personally about. And I know that they are working on it,” acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary (DHS) Chad Wolf said.

Wolf, responding to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on the host’s show, didn’t specify which groups, but Carlson had just asked why the leaders of Black Lives Matter and Antifa haven’t been charged.

DOJ officials are “also targeting and investigating the head of these organizations, the individuals that are paying for these individuals to move across the country,” Wolf added.

Groups and individuals have been moving from Portland, the nexus of the riots, to other parts of the country, the law enforcement official said, pointing to the fact that many of those arrested in Kenosha, Wisconsin were from out of state.

“So we know they’re moving around, we’ve seen them in D.C., in Sacramento, and elsewhere. We know they’re organized. We have seen similar tactics being used from Portland and other cities across the country as well,” he said.

Wolf said he confers with William Barr, the attorney general, on almost a weekly basis about the investigations. DHS workers are providing any relevant information to the DOJ.

“I wish that was in a little quicker fashion, we’ll continue to see how that is, but, again, this administration, this president is committed to holding individuals accountable,” Wolf said. “I think that if folks start to realize, if you want to riot, you want to loot, you want to do some of these other criminal acts that we see around the country, there are going to be consequences for that.”

The Department of Justice didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Barr said in a statement on May 31, after rioters destroyed swaths of Minneapolis and other cities, that “the voices of peaceful and legitimate protests have been hijacked by violent radical elements.”

“The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly,” he said.

Task forces of officers are reviewing all available evidence from rioting dating back to May, Barr added in Wisconsin during a Sept. 1 roundtable.

When rioters are identified, “they will be prosecuted,” Barr vowed.

A DOJ spokeswoman said Monday that 300 have been arrested nationwide amid rioting and civil unrest, including 100 in Portland. Of the 302 people charged, 76 were in Portland, she said.

Questions about the organization behind the unrest have been put forth in recent days.

Attempts to ignore this reality and prevent the formation of relations that respectfully take into account new world balance of power, were assessed by the Foreign Minister as short-sighted and dangerous.

“The West refuses to conduct a dialogue on equal terms, does not recognize the multipolar polycentric reality and tries to maintain its dominant position by using illegitimate methods such as sanctions, direct intervention, and so on,” Lavrov said.

Lavrov stressed that Russia remained committed to the principle of a multilateral approach to solving problems, primarily within the framework of the United Nations. At the UN, Russia, together with a large group of countries from Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America, is promoting partnership aiming to defend the core principles of the organization’s Charter. This policy can be considered an irrefutable confirmation of the commitment to the principles of multilateralism.

U.S. Soldiers Attempted To Take Sexual Advantage Of Underage Syrian Children: Media

In late July 2020, an American patrol of 4 vehicles arrived in a Syrian village, and the soldiers that came out attempted to sexually harras underage children who were swimming in the river, Russian news website Rusvesna reported, citing eyewitness claims.

One of US soldiers allegedly put the child on his lap and gave him candy and money, after which he began to touch him. The children ran away from them and told their families.

When the relatives came out, the patrol left immediately. According to Rusvesna, the relatives turned to a lawyer in order to have court proceedings against them servicemen.

Native children also said that the boys began throwing stones at “the perverts from the US Army.”

Rusvesna spoke with the lawyer of the victims – Muayya Suleiman.

“On the fact of this crime, we drew up a lawsuit and sent it to the prosecutor’s office of Kamyshli to give permission to consider this material in the court of first instance.

We handed over all documents, evidence and witness statements confirming the crime. The lawsuit is filed against the US President, US Secretary of Defense and the US Chief of the General Staff.

DC Mayor: ‘Remove, Relocate, Contextualize’ Monuments and Memorials

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has called for the removal, relocation, or contextualization of a number of entities across the city, including the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Columbus Fountain, and a Benjamin Franklin statue.

The Mayor led a group, dubbed the DCFACES Working Group, to review different memorials and schools in the district for renaming and removal. The group was tasked to create a report of their findings in July and this information was released today.

“Since July 15, we have worked with eight working group members and more than twenty staff members to engage residents, examine policy and conduct research in making the recommendations contained herein,” states the report.

“Our decision-making prism focused on key disqualifying histories, including participation in slavery, systemic racism, mistreatment of, or actions that suppressed equality for, persons of color, women and LGBTQ communities and violation of the DC Human Right Act,” the report adds.

Nine public buildings including the Potomac Job Corps Center and the Thomas Jefferson Hall are listed for recommended renaming.

Twelve playgrounds and fields, 7 government buildings, and 8 memorials are listed for renaming or contextualization.

Florida Gov. DeSantis ‘We will NEVER do any of these lockdowns again.’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis warned at a Monday press conference that his state will “never do any” lockdowns associated with COVID-19 again. He made the proclamation during a series of discussions he spoke at with President Donald Trump’s newest coronavirus task force doctor Scott Atlas, who supported DeSantis and reiterated that the shutdowns have proved more harmful overall, than other efforts to mitigate the novel virus and protect the most vulnerable.

DeSantis and Atlas spoke at a series of press conferences in Tallahassee, The Villages and Tampa, addressing the state’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak and the need for children to return to school.

“You go back to the beginning of June, end of July, people said you have to shut down Florida, it will be exponential it will never go down,” said DeSantis, as he recalled the controversy over his decision to reopen the state.

“I looked at the life cycle of the virus and different regions of the world, different regions of the United States and I said no, if we focus on protecting those most vulnerable, if the folks, particularly at the nursing homes, if other folks take the basic precautions that we preach about avoiding some of the riskier behaviors…that we would be able to get through it minimizing the harm to society.”

DeSantis, who noted that the nightclubs and pubs are still closed, said the state will address how to reopen those businesses. He said the state gained 70,000 private-sector jobs.

“We will never do any of these lockdowns again,” he added. “And I hear people say we’ll shutdown the country and honestly I cringe because we know places that have done that and the most draconian lock down in the world has been Peru, military enforced since March, they have the highest per capita mortality in the world from COVID.”

He added, “at best what a lockdown will do is delay, but not reduce the ultimate mortality but I think Dr. Atlas would agree it creates a lot of other problems with mortality that a lot of other people don’t necessarily focus on.”

Atlas reiterated that children must return to school, stating that it is more harmful to their overall health and psychological well-being to keep them locked up in their homes out of unnecessary fear.

“We are the only country of our peer nations in the Western world who are so hysterical about reopening schools,” said Dr. Scott Atlas, who became a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force in August. “We seem to be the only country willing to sacrifice our children out of fear.”

Venom From Honeybees Found to Kill Aggressive Breast Cancer Cells

Using the venom from 312 honeybees and bumblebees in Perth Western Australia, Ireland and England, Dr Ciara Duffy from the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and The University of Western Australia, tested the effect of the venom on the clinical subtypes of breast cancer, including triple-negative breast cancer, which has limited treatment options.

Results published in the prestigious international journal Precision Oncology revealed that honeybee venom rapidly destroyed triple-negative breast cancer and HER2-enriched breast cancer cells.

Dr Duffy said the aim of the research was to investigate the anti-cancer properties of honeybee venom, and a component compound, melittin, on different types of breast cancer cells.

“No-one had previously compared the effects of honeybee venom or melittin across all of the different subtypes of breast cancer and normal cells.

“We tested honeybee venom on normal breast cells, and cells from the clinical subtypes of breast cancer: hormone receptor positive, HER2-enriched, and triple-negative breast cancer.

“We tested a very small, positively charged peptide in honeybee venom called melittin, which we could reproduce synthetically, and found that the synthetic product mirrored the majority of the anti-cancer effects of honeybee venom,” Dr Duffy said.

“We found both honeybee venom and melittin significantly, selectively and rapidly reduced the viability of triple-negative breast cancer and HER2-enriched breast cancer cells.

“The venom was extremely potent,” Dr Duffy said.

A specific concentration of honeybee venom can induce 100% cancer cell death, while having minimal effects on normal cells.

“We found that melittin can completely destroy cancer cell membranes within 60 minutes.”

Melittin in honeybee venom also had another remarkable effect; within 20 minutes, melittin was able to substantially reduce the chemical messages of cancer cells that are essential to cancer cell growth and cell division.

“We looked at how honeybee venom and melittin affect the cancer signalling pathways, the chemical messages that are fundamental for cancer cell growth and reproduction, and we found that very quickly these signalling pathways were shut down.

WHO admits to using ‘artificial intelligence,’ ‘social listening’ to control COVID news

The World Health Org said it's 'battling the trolls and conspiracy theorists that push misinformation and undermine the outbreak response.'

The World Health Organization (WHO) is working with an analytics company to engage in “social listening” as it monitors millions of people’s social media accounts to combat “coronavirus misinformation.”

According to an August 25 WHO news post titled “Immunizing the public against misinformation,” the WHO, which is the health arm of the United Nations, claims there is “an overabundance of information and the rapid spread of misleading or fabricated news, images, and videos” regarding the coronavirus.

For instance, the WHO said in its press release that it was working with “colleagues from the UN Global Pulse initiative, which uses artificial intelligence and big data to tackle development and humanitarian issues and to apply social listening to countries where radio is a popular medium of information.”

“We’re not just battling the virus,” WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was quoted as saying in the news release. “We’re also battling the trolls and conspiracy theorists that push misinformation and undermine the outbreak response.”

In July, U.S. president Donald Trump’s administration formally began the process to withdraw his country from the WHO. In April he said the WHO had a “role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus.”

Also in April, a representative from the WHO said abortion should be an “essential service” during the coronavirus crisis.

The WHO held its first “Infodemiology Conference” in June and July, at which they called for the “adaptation, development, validation and evaluation of new evidence-based measures and practices to prevent, detect and respond to mis- and disinformation.”

According to the WHO in February of this year, well before most nations even began locking down due to the coronavirus, they met at Facebook’s headquarters “about how to promote accurate health information about COVID-19.”

The WHO says it is “working with more than 50 digital companies and social media platforms,” which include Google, TikTok, and YouTube, “to ensure that science-based health messages from the organization or other official sources appear first when people search for information related to COVID-19.”

The WHO has coined coronavirus “misinformation” with a term it calls “Infodemic,” which, it says, “like the virus … is highly contagious and grows exponentially.”

It is because of this “Infodemic” that the WHO says it is using “social listening” with “machine learning monitoring” tools to combat “fake news.”

The WHO says that every week, it reviews 1.6 million “pieces of information on various social media platforms.”

NIH Attacks FDA Over 'Premature' Approval Of 'Trump-Backed' Convalescent Plasma

Whatever is left of the FDA's credibility after director Dr. Stephen Hahn claimed that the agency would happily approve a COVID-19 vaccine before Phase 3 trials are finished if it felt "appropriate", a panel of experts at the National Institutes of Health, another agency in America's immense public health bureaucracy, have directly repudiated one of the FDA's most "controversial" findings.

In an analysis of an FDA decision calling for emergency authorization of convalescent plasma as a means of treating COVID-19, the panel of experts convened by the NIH ruled that there wasn't enough evidence to back up the FDA's claims.

Of course, Dr. Hahn has already apologized for his decision to fast-track approvals for convalescent plasma, saying it was wrong to cave to political pressures, and that the FDA must remain outside of political influence. Dr. Hahn granted his emergency approval of the medication on Aug. 23, the Sunday before the start of the Republican National Convention.

Then again, the experts didn't rule against plasma as a potential treatment, they simply argued that what little data has been collected so far is hardly conclusive.

"There are currently no data from well-controlled, adequately powered randomized clinical trials that demonstrate the efficacy and safety of convalescent plasma for the treatment of COVID-19,” the NIH group said in a statement.

"There are insufficient data to recommend either for or against the use of convalescent plasma for the treatment of COVID-19."

As more states mull the possibility of insisting on mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for students and workers - Joe Biden is already vehemently in favor of mandatory mask laws, and attacked vaccine skeptics as "anti-science" - this is just the latest chilling reminder that "science" doesn't always speak with one voice, and that when it comes to experimental treatments, there are many factors that must be weighed.

Kandice Barber, 35, also allegedly told the boy she might be pregnant with his baby after sleeping with him following a sports awards evening at a secondary school in Buckinghamshire.

Barber, who told police her account must have been hacked,��has denied a series of charges involving the boy and including breaching a position of trust.

Her headmaster was said to have found out about her having sex with the boy after a topless picture of her was circulated around the secondary school.

Aylesbury Crown Court was told Barber approached the boy at a school sports awards day and added him on Snapchat.

Prosecutors alleged the teacher, then 33, had then picked up the youngster in her car and driven him to a secluded area where she had sex with him.

Jurors heard how the teacher, who had school-age children of her own, had later met up with the boy for two other illicit trysts and sent him pictures of herself topless, which were then widely shared around the school.

Richard Milne, prosecuting, said: 'This case is about an adult teacher having sexual relations with a pupil at the school where she taught.
